I was skeptical about these. My bigger dogs are power chewers(shepard, and lab) these 2 go thrue bully sticks and damn near everything i give them pretty quick so I was ready to try anything. These lasted weeks!! They are pricy( these were the best.deal i could find) butnthe dogs loved them, they didn’t smell and weren’t sticky(prior to the dogs) and they lasted. The only thing i worry about is they say to either soak them or take them away when they get small as the dogs can choke on them. Mine didn’t but it was a concern. BTW I tried cutting them in half for my smaller.dogs and I had to use a dremmel tool with a cut off bit. A knife wouldn’t cut them they were that hard, and they were too big for bolt cutters. Lol.

Perfect for my sensitive tummy pups!
My pups have extremely sensitive tummies and canât have many treats. We used to use antlers and other synthetic bones, but both were too hard and would cause digestive issues. The quality of these yak milk bones is unmatched! While they are hard at first they soften as theyâre chewed. These are a must for effective dental health and for stimulation for overall health and wellness! Well worth the price!

We just like to say “Nepalese Yak Cheese”
Take a look for yourself. That is one happy flippin’ Frenchie. He gets down with his Nepalese Yak Cheese sticks. If it’s healthy and it makes him happy he will probably get it, and more than once. As is the case with all his endeavors, he is a magnificent chewer, and these do last. Being the party with opposable thumbs I like that they are odorless because Frenchies are far from it. I love that they don’t get soft and slimy, making them dangerous and disgusting, like other chew options. When they get too small, I’m not a monster for taking it away, I’m simply changing its form…high five Mighty Paw. 3 ingredients = enough said. The less than stellar parts are all the crumbles…but I guess you pick your poison as far as the mess from whatever your dog chews up goes. Just know it’s coming and prepare…use those thumbs! Also, don’t drop them onto any hard surface because they break pretty easily and then you have to skip to the cheese puff portion of the Nepalese Yak Cheese.

***Update 1/10/23 So far even with issue from first post, these seem the best and safest option for my super chewer. Since original post, tried out some bully sticks and found them more expensive and she got through one in minutes, not days. As far as these go compared to bully sticks they last way longer and donât smell bad ( bully sticks do). After she went through the first four yak chews chews in original bag, Iâve ordered more. Changed to four stars from 3 because they are safe, she gets to eat all of chew so no waste, and they engage the heck out of her. These are a good product. Still wish the price was lower but this brand seems to be a good buy compared to most, especially as these are really solid and last a while.****Original review:So went out on a limb and spent what I feel is a LOT of money for dog chews – $6 bucks each – But we recently adopted a GSD 7 month old puppy who is a serious superchewer – has destroyed all toys but her kong, and puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. When the package of chews first came, I got a little ticked off looking into the bag (see pics) because it made it look like they weren’t the same size – but after investigating, they are all approximately the same weight, just not the same length/shape. Only one of the chews in the bag looks like the ones on the advertising pics. Not consistent, and since this is a formed and cut item, I was expecting each one to be pretty uniform. From the pictures I’ve included, you can see the short one especially is very square, which brought on another issue – pup was very interested in the chew, but when she tried to chew it, lost interest very quickly as the corners and sides were sharp and seemed to hurt her mouth. Tried it out with her sage older buddy (4yr. old GSD) and got the same reaction. Interest turned to ‘no thanks’. So I took the short chew out to the garage, used a very sharp, large chisel and shaved down the corners and edges so they weren’t sharp anymore. Not only did Cali decide the shavings were tasty, she then really gave the chew a go. I’m a bit skeptical, as this chew is very hard, seems harder or at least analagous to a Benebone which we had for her, which we didn’t buy a third after reading their site recommendations for chew levels at which to discard (basically you pay about $12 for about two day’s worth of chew if you discard at the point their website says is safe), and realizing she was just ingesting thousands of little sharp nylon shavings with them. So we bought these hoping they’d last, and be a lot safer. I’m holding my judgement on the chew until she’s had more time with it, as I’m not sure I like how it sounds on her teeth (may be too hard?) and the way it is breaking down so far … smallish chunks/shards like if you bite on a hard candy were coming off… was hoping more like meal, crumbles, not sharp bits. We will see.** Update 12/20/22She loves these things, and they do soften up after she has a go at them for a bit and do become soft crumbles. They are lasting about 3 days each, that is about 2-3 hard core chew sessions per day. Once shaved the sharp edges down she goes to town on it. I put one end in her kong to keep the end bit from becoming a choking hazard. Have had to get that bit out with tools (screwdriver on small end, pliers on big) but it keeps her safe. Followed the directions of soaking the end bit in water, then microwaving – makes a weird hard kind of puff – more like a large very rigid pork rind – and she loves those too, but warning – they make a god-awful mess. So far, these are the best edible chews I have tried that are digestible and safe. I feel like that makes this type of treat worth it – and is probably saving our furniture, which would cost more than these admittedly.

My pups love it!
This keeps my pups busy and itâs safe for them. It lasts for days. My two dogs hides it, finds it, steal it, play with it and one chomps it down quickly when she decides enough is enough. My other pup carries it, plays with it and constantly sits and chews on it. No belly issues

What’s with the “puffball” snack?
Okay, so Zola does like these. They last for a long time. When not chewing on it, she carries it around and “buries” it in the house which is adorable. However I’m wondering about this whole “puff” treat when it gets small??I tried exactly as suggested once it got small enough that you need to take it away. The consistency didn’t change at all. I tried longer in the microwave. Same. Today I poured actual boiling water over it. Left it for 1/2 hour. Did not change the consistency at all. Did we get really old ones??? Don’t know. But since it doesn’t “puff” and we have to take it away, we’re basically losing 1/3 to 1/4 of each piece.For that it loses 2 stars given the cost.

First-time buyer…
My dog enjoyed the yak chew; ate half of it in about a half hour. I put the remaining half in a holder to avoid choking. The chew is extremely hard; my concern now is that Doggo might break a tooth. No smell; not at all messy. I will but another yak chew and watch him closely while he enjoys it.

I am updating my review as their customer service representative reached out regarding the product. I appreciate the exceptional service. Overall these are great for medium chewers. I purchased them as they were a great deal. They are packaged well and the dogs love them. However, they only last a day (or a few hours). Other brands last a week. I have aggressive chewers, so if your dogs are less aggressive I would highly recommend as they are a great deal, donât splinter, are basically odourless, and are a great natural product. If you have aggressive chewers you might want to look at other brands.

A great deal considering 2 at the pet store can range from $18-24 depending on the size. My 1 year old beagle mix loves these and they keep him busy! He finishes a bully stick within 30 minutes, these chews last a lot longer. I would recommend getting a holder for it so you donât have to worry about choking. It makes a world of a difference and you waste far less of the chew!

Not my dogs absolute favourite chew (she enjoys bullys a lot more), but they do last a long time as she chews for maybe 10 mins at a time and then leaves it to play with a toy. They are brittle so will break if dropped on a hard floor. They are messy as well and little bits of hard cheese will be found everywhere! But they are a long lasting, hard chew so will order these from time to time. Not a bad price as well.

I have two 80 lbs mixed breed dogs one is 7 months and one is 9 years old and both love these the same. The medium size pack of 12 is the perfect balance of price and size. They will keep my dogs busy and last a few hours. Also helps keep their teeth clean. If you microwave the smaller pieces for 45 seconds it puffs up and makes it less of a choking hazard.
