I have a 20 pound Cavalier King Charles who absolutely LOVES swimming! She normally wears a traditional life jacket, so when I saw this OBrien I was leary. I couldn’t wrap my head around how it was going to provide the buoyancy a regular life jacket would.From the moment I first put it on my dog I was pleasantly surprised! Dilly enjoys the added mobility this life jacket offers as it’s not bulky around her neck and legs. She is able to independently on and off board our boat without difficulty. She can turn her head left and right without anything blocking her view. She floats in the water as expected and is able to wear the life jacket for long periods of time without it impeding movement on and off land. The handle is sturdy as I lift her on and off the boat. So far the colors have not faded in the sun.The jacket is brightly colored and she can easily be seen in the water by other boaters, jet skiers and kayakers. This is an important factor taking into consideration her small size and the fact that she is black.I unzip the zipper lay the vest down and Dilly steps into the neck hole. I am easily able to zip and fasten the vest in a short period of time.We originally purchased this from a sporting goods store and paid $25 more. I was so happy to find it on Amazon and I bought a second as a spare! I would definitely recommend this for a small dog!!The only drawback is it takes a long time to dry because of the material it’s made of.

Love it
Very good item. Lightweight, nice colours. It is so thin and light than i was in a doubt if it will work as it should, but it does float (i have a big dog). Not trust a lot to a zipper closure (especially in a salted water), but will see, hope it is safe and durable

Solid vest (especially for the price)
The O’Brien Pet Life Vest is easily the best vest that we’ve found over the years…and we’ve had quite a few. We bought a medium for our 43 pound Pit/Shepherd mix (she’s got the pit chest) and it fits her perfectly. My only complaint with the vest is the “handle”…it’s poorly stitched to the vest so it can’t be used to pull your dog out of the water. That being said, the looks and quality of the vest make this one a winner in my book.

We have tried several different dog vests and in our opinion this one is the best. a large fits well on our previous 100 lb Lab so when we got a puppy we bought this one while he grows into the larger one that we have already.

Great Life Vest!
This is a great little life vest… tried and tested. I have a 50lb black lab pup, 6 months old… fits perfectly, plus she still has a bit of room to grow. I bought a medium…. has kept her up while learning to swim! Great product! Would certainly purchase again!

UPDATE June 29, 2020…The handle on top broke the first time out! Our pup only weighed 23 lbs when it broke!The Jacket is well made. It seems to run a little big, but can be adjusted via the straps. Not too bulky for our Labradoodle pup. Shipping was fast, actually a couple days earlier than stated at check out.

Comfortable and works!
We have tried a lot of life vests for our labs. This one is comfortable, they will wear it. It keeps them afloat without restriction and doesn’t cause them to roll and flounder like other ones did.
