The Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound Lickin’ Layers is a Level 2 dog puzzle game and slow feeder in one, designed to challenge your dog’s mind while slowing down their eating pace. Dogs have to navigate the three layers of food compartments by spinning each one to reveal the treats. Dog puzzles help pups use their natural instincts and behaviors to help their brains develop through mental stimulation, and ones like Lickin’ Layers provide the enrichment they crave! Our dog enrichment toys provide mental and physical exercise, help relieve stress, and reduce boredom for happier, healthier pups. With over 100 treat compartments, this dog puzzle toy will keep dogs busy and engaged. Great for small, medium, and large dogs, it has enough space to hold full meals of kibble or various treats to encourage your dog to eat at a slower, healthier pace. Incresae the challenge by freezing the toy layers with peanut butter (xylitol-free), wet dog food, or plain Greek yogurt! Lickin’ Layers is made with food-safe materials free from BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalates. Ditch the standard dog bowl and give your dog the mentally stimulating challenge they crave with Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound Lickin’ Layers. One dog loves it! Pretty easy to rinse clean, a bit hard to separate the layers imho. Sturdy, fun
I rinse it clean without taking it apart, using the wide spray on the kitchen sink, because I find it difficult to take apart and put back together without making a mess. The fastener clip is small and hard to manipulate. However it rinses off pretty easily, you just have to spin each layer. (Use the gentle or wide spray to avoid water going everywhere. It easily holds about one 13oz can of dogfood. It takes about half a can to fill it enough to make it worth the dog’s time imho. My 23lb corgi mix loves it. She can focuses on getting every lick out of every layer, and keeps her busy a while. It has helped her tremendously slow down on her meals and also provides enrichment and entertainment. 13 lb chihuahua mix is less thorough, he grabs what he can easily get, and cries for a refill! 10lb rescue chihuahua mix did not understand it at all and is much more toy motivated than food motivated, but he is a picky eater and did not need slowing down. So, for the purpose intended, slow down my vacuum-corgi mix dog, it’s worked fantastic, and she also enjoys playing with it. Good for a dog who likes a challenge, or eats way too fast. I love that it doesn’t tip over, she hasn’t flipped it over yet with daily use. I’ve used it with both small dry kibble and wet food, works fine with both. It’s easy to smear canned food onto it even if you don’t take the layers apart. Doesn’t need to be perfect, she’s happy, I’m happy

    Amazing!!!!
All of our doggos love this one! It definitely is a good challenge and gives a good amount of activity time. The plastic material of this is very durable. The value is well worth it! It doesn’t move around or squeak. The plastic is strong and none of the furs have tried to chew on it.

High quality – I just happen to have a lab
I would give this 5 stars, except for the one fact that I have a lab who can’t be slowed. This is an intricate, very well made, tricky for humans, food bowl for dogs. The three levels take time to fill with food, just wish my dog took that long to remove the food. It’s easy to clean and fun colors. If my dog wasn’t a vacuum, and actually chewed her food, I think this would have slowed her down – and would have gotten a 5 star rating.

Keeps’em occupied and slows down eating
Bought this for our 6MO large breed puppy because he tore apart the smaller one we had. It’s big so he has to search out and find his food which slows him down and occupies him for at least 30 minutes or more depending on how we fill it. This would be great for any adult dog or slightly older puppy of medium or large breed. I typically sprinkle in dry kibble and then spread/press wet food in with a butter knife over top. Sometimes we use a couple of squirts of Kong treat filler and small training treats for him to pass time in his crate when we leave the house. It holds large adult dog kibble easily and there’s more than enough room on each level to spread kibble and treats. Can be used in freezer during warmer months for special broth treats, easy to clean and take apart/put together you can definitely use it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Only worry is depending on how often/hard you use it, the plastic teeth might wear down for the level connections. So far mine has taken a small beating because it’s used everyday but it’s still in good shape and I will absolutely buy another when our boy wears the current one out.

Solid start, but a little too easy
Obligatory disclosure that I did purchase this for my cat (kitten, technically), not dog. It took a little bit of demonstration for him to figure it out, but I almost feel like there’s not enough actual puzzle involved. It’s a very straight forward removal process. I’m not very familiar with “levels” when it comes to dog puzzles, but I think “intermediate” might be a bit strong of a word to use. Overall though it WAS enriching and if nothing else provided him some entertainment. Might use it like a slow feeder for kibble in the future.

Perfect Puzzle to Keep My Dog Engaged and Happy!
This dog treat puzzle is amazing! My pup absolutely loves it and it keeps him occupied for quite a while. It’s sturdy, well-made, and the challenge is just right—he has to think but doesn’t get frustrated. I also love that it doubles as a slow feeder, helping him eat more slowly and avoid bloating. If you have a smart dog who needs mental stimulation, this puzzle is a must-have! Highly recommend for keeping your furry friend entertained and out of trouble.

13 wk old puppy like this a lot
We got an Aussie puppy and bought tons of puzzle feeders and toys to keep him stimulated.I actually planned to fill this one with baby food and water/frozen fruit, then freeze and let him work on for, hopefully, a whole, but so far we’ve just put treats and food in it and he likes it.It’s not too complicated, he easily spins the levels, but it also keeps him occupied for a bit. He also chews on it since he’s teething, and it’s holding up so far.

This has worked well for my 31 pound dog. He caught on pretty quickly. The tray that holds the treats slides out, so it is easy to fill and to clean. It doesn’t keep him occupied for a long time, but a couple of rounds gives him some fun and uses some mental energy.

This puzzle toy is a great way to entertain your dog. After initially being afraid of the noise and movement, my 11 year old Chihuahua now loves it and checks it throughout the day for more food. I spent some time during the first few days to introduce her to the mechanics of the puzzle and slowly increased the difficulty over several weeks. Here are the different levels I used:1. Kibble in the hole with the knob covering2. Kibble in the hole with the fin covering3. Kibble in the hole, covered by the fin, and the knob pushed against it4. Kibble in the knob so she has to slide it to the hole and back5. Kibble in the knob and the fin covering the holeShe has it mastered now (about 3 weeks total) but I believe she still enjoys the activity of hunting for her food. She’s learned to use her nose and paws together (she really only used her nose before) and has gained confidence not only with the toy but with new situations she encounters (getting around obstacles, for instance). The toy itself is well made and easy to clean. The pieces seem sturdy but my dog is not a chewer so I can’t speak to that. I have already bought two more products from the same line and am equally as pleased.

Kept the neurons in my puppy’s brain sparking. Anything that slows his eating down is great in my books.
