The squeak might die the ball does not.
If you want to cut to the chase YES THIS PRODUCT WORKS, if you want more details then continue reading. So for starters, we have a 75 pound Doberman whom we call “The Destroyer of All Things”. Anything she can tear into (toy wise) she will dismantle in a matter of minutes. It’s been very frustrating trying to find toys that will last long enough to occupy her playtime without us feeling like we may as just hand her money to shred up and throw in the garbage.I will say that my dog, however, is also a “picky” destroyer and will not simply chew and destroy and play with just any toy. I bought her a solid hard rubber ball once that weighed a ton and because it was so stiff and had zero give and was actually indestructible (to her standers) but, she played with it for a matter of 30 seconds before never touching it again. If it’s too solid and indestructible she gets no satisfaction from it and won’t play with it, which is also a waste of money since it’s been sitting at the bottom of her toy bin ever since. So trying to find a toy that is a balance of fun for her and durable for our pockets was a hard task, until now.My husband somehow stumbled upon this ball and hopeful from all the glowing reviews (but still skeptical so we wouldn’t be disappointed if it didn’t work) we ordered it immediately. We have NOT been disappointed thus far and she’s had it for a month!! Just like some reviews have said, the squeak did not last long, but that wasn’t surprising. Our dog’s favorite toys used to be the yellow tennis style kong balls and she’d have the squeak killed in a matter of seconds until it only wheezed and then she’d tear up the ball itself. Which is why we needed to find a replacement that she could shred into tiny rubber pieces all over my floor. This ball really truly was not annoying when is squeaked, until the piercing shrieking noise the Kong tennis balls made this one was pretty chill on the noise level and I didn’t mind it at all while it worked. If the squeaker hadn’t died I wouldn’t have been driven up the wall with the noise and bonus my dog still loved it either way. But, the squeak didn’t last long, maybe a few minutes at most. However, I continued and continue to monitor this ball for any other signs of defeat and have yet to find ANY. Not a tooth mark, not a nick, nothing, nada, ZILCH. This ball is soft enough that it has some give when she chomps down on it, but it’s durable enough to bounce back and not snap or crack or break under pressure. The give my dog gets from chewing on it keeps her attention because I think it gives her some false sense of hope that she might still be able to destroy it. So even after a month, she’s not lost interest. Also, even though the squeak has died when she chomps down on the ball it sort of makes a clicking/suctioning noise which also makes her very happy to play with it. She loves it when we toss it down the hallway because of the softer rubber it has a rather unpredictable bounce and so she never quite knows where it’s going to go.Highly recommended and I cannot wait to test out other products from this brand and buy her a couple of more balls to have around the house in replacement to her old Kong balls.

Only ball for a pool!
We have a lab mastiff whose motto is “Ball is life” and this is the ONLY ball that withstands 2 summers in a pool playing daily fetch. It’s also one of the only ones that can withstand his massive chomping. MUST BUY for large dog owner. Fyi- the “squeak” is minor. I don’t mind it especially out in the yard so he can hear it in long distances. I do NOT bring this in the house unless I want to rename my dog Wreck-it-Ralph.

Totally Indestructible
My dogs love this ball, and while they destroy all of their other toys, they can’t destroy this ball. I highly recommend this if you have larger dogs who like to chew or play catch. I wish all dog toys were this indestructible!

STROBE: Favorite Ball, durable, decent battery life
This is my Golden Retriever’s absolute favorite ball! Particularly the strobe light up ball but she’s happy with any Planet Dog ball to the point that she looks at me for the “good ball” to fetch with if i try to have her play with a ball from a different company.Pros: by far my dog’s favorite ball- good bounce, and good squish factor yet durable-larger size: safe for large dogs-lights up to see at night-decent battery life-rain does not affect batteryCons:-battery is not replaceable/ rechargeable (though I’m not sure it’s an option without seriously altering the design)-regular glow (once battery is dead) is not great-only lights up on a bounce and shortly after that- If your dog bites down particularly forcefully it can displace the battery which typically kills it;if submerged in water (my dog tends to place it in her water bowl when she takes a break while fetching), it is reduces battery life, both make me worry about safetyThe ball always out lasts the lifespan of the battery for the light, I’d say we average about 1 month per ball while the light works with about 1 hour of use almost everyday. The ball does hold up to some of my dog’s friends that are super chewers including one that is a Cane Corso. I don’t let them sit and work at chewing it but they definitely squeeze it in their mouths with a good bit of force. My girl is happy to play with the ball even once the battery dies but I prefer to have the light so I can find the ball when needed. The glow color does glow when placed under a flashlight for a few minutes first but I find it doesn’t glow as well or as long as other company’s glow toys. My dog has a tendency to drown it in her water bowl to keep it nearby or rinse off any dirt and that definitely shortens the battery life but using it in the rain doesn’t seem to affect the battery lifeI think this being my dog’s favorite has to do with the good bounce and squeeze factor this ball has. I like that it’s slightly bigger than a tennis ball so I’m comfortable with large dogs playing with it. It fits in the “large” chuck it ball launcher. I actually discovered this specific ball when another dog had it and my dog kept taking it instead of her other light up ball that she had played with happily for months.*update* the redesigned version seems to have addressed my worries about the light and battery by enclosing it in a more secure way. The new version doesn’t seem to light up as consistently on every bounce and seems to light up in a more seizure inducing way (I’m sorry I couldn’t think of a better description). The light also seems to die much faster with the new version. Despite all that, it is still by far my dog’s favorite.

My Dog’s Favorite Toy
My dog absolutely LOVES these squeak balls. He loves to chase them and then just chew on them like they’re a big piece of gum. He’s only allowed to play with it outside under supervision, so when he gets it, he’ll play fetch for a little while and then wants to just lay in the grass and chew on the ball. Or just lay there with the ball in his mouth. It’s like a comfort thing to him.We do have to order a new ball every few months or so, though, because he chews through them eventually. And I have to get the squeaker out when it starts to crack open like an egg. But then he can still chew on the severed ball for awhile until it splits in half. Then it’s time for a new one.The ball makes him so incredibly happy, and if there’s two balls in his toy basket, he always has a favorite and knows which one it is. But he has no problem moving on to a new one once the preferred one gets tossed away.

I have had this about 2 weeks now and using it every day. I donât see any undo signs of wear or tear. My dog loves this ball and I think she is attracted to the lights. With winter time, the lights are really convenient as the sun goes down early and her evening walks are always in the dark. The only downside is you cannot charge this or replace the battery – not so good for the environment when it eventually stops lighting up.UPDATE: after 4 months of almost daily use, the ball is still in good shape with no signs of undue wear or tear. The lights are still going but quite a bit dimmer – they went dim within a few weeks of use but steady since then

My dos went wild getting the ball. It bounces well. Is tough enough to last. And so much fun with the lights

Indestructible. My dog likes to chew balls and this is still going strong 6 months on. The squeaker is built in so it can’t fall out or get damaged by teeth. My dog is a giant cross breed (50% German shepard, 50% borzoi) for reference. This ball is roughly the size of a large tennis ball from Pets at Home – big enough to suitable for giant breeds and small enough that a spaniel could pick it up. The squeaker isn’t loud, and he has to squeeze it hard from the right angle, so it also won’t bother you while you’re watching TV. Fairly bouncy so good for outdoor games, but it does get a bit slimy so I wouldn’t recommend playing fetch with it.
