Slows my fast eater down
I have a 70lb GSD that will finish food placed in a bowl in a minute–no exaggeration. I use about 1 and 1/2 cups of food per meal. This two cup feeder fits the food fine, but I’ve found that using a larger Outward Hound slow feeder makes it more challenging. If in doubt, size up. For a bigger challenge, size up.
Instead of a minute, this slow feeder makes my dog take about 2 minutes to finish a bowl. Doubling how long it takes her to eat is a big feat. I’ve had another Outward Hound slow feeder that has lasted for years and this one seems to be the same build quality. The rubber grippy bottom of the bowl keeps it from slipping around on smooth surfaces.
I’ve loved every product I’ve purchased from Outward Hound–try the puzzles if you want to give your dog a bigger challenge!–and this new Fun Feeder Slo Bowl is no exception.

It’s really big!
I was not expecting this slow feeder to be this big. There is a lot of space between the wedges. I used it to put treats out for her after her dinner. It did slow her down, but not that much. She loves her treats. I didn’t use it for her food because I usually top it with something wet and I didn’t want another bowl to clean. But if you have a gobbler, this will slow them down. I just wish the wedges were closer together.

Nicely done
It’s low-lying enough that the size and weight keep it from flipping over and the silicone trim on the outer rim keeps it from sliding on hard flooring. And it definitely does its job in slowing down the usual chow time. The only question is whether it causes enough frustration that he eventually decides to chew through the puzzle-like wedges to “fix” the bowl.

Not bad
Arrived in perfect condition. I didn’t get this for a dog, but for my cat that likes to wolf down food. Build quality feels reasonably good and the silicone layer on the bottom helps to reduce the chances of it sliding around the floor.

Big!
This is bigger than I expected. The grooves are deep (almost 2″). Definitely great for very large breeds. Well made! Excellent product ð
