I did have to cut this to fit my door and tape it down on the wood floor so my car didnât just lift it up and messed the carpet up again. But other than that it it really durable.

Works as intended but took forever to lay flat…
My girlfriends cat was accidentally locked in her bedroom and ended up damaging her newly installed carpet where said cat scratched and damaged the carpet at the door threshold. This event is what triggered the purchase of this protector…The product arrived rolled up and was a bit of an effort to get it to lay flat on her thick carpet with a low nap. She tried using a hair dryer to warm and shape the protector with minimal help. She then placed it outside on a sunny California day hoping the sun’s warmth would help flatten in out, again with little help (because it is winter and the outside temp was in the 50’s, the heat from the sun was not effective). Finally, she then tried placing it in the bathtub and partially filled the tub with hot water that finally did the trick.Once placed on the floor by the door, she had to try several placements – since she has luxury vinyl plank flooring on the hallway side of bedroom door, she had to have the protector only on the carpet side of the doorway because of the nubs on the bottom of the protector that caused it to raise up and create a trip hazzard if part of the protector was left on the LVP flooring.Once flattened and properly positioned, the doorway threshold is now protected should her cat get trapped in the bedroom with the door closed again.This product does provide the advertised protection but it took some effort to get it to lay flat. For that reason, I deducted one star from my 4 star rating.

The product has a loud plastic smell
I like the overall product because I use it as a rug runner for my room but I had to endure several days of coming home to a room smelling like plastic until I had to use disinfectant cleaner to clean the runner which got rid of the smell.

Perfect for naughty cats
My two cats scratch at my bedroom door, whether I let them in or not. I put this down and it’s completely removed the behavior! I actually bought two, and cut them to size for both rooms. They don’t look too terrible, but if it saves my carpet, it’s worth it!

Doesnât stay put on carpet and cats easily can move it
Not very effective. It is easy to install and easy to cut but after you it , it is difficult to get the pieces to flatten out after the big piece in the box was pre rolled and curved in the box for however long it had been in the box it came in⦠the it is not a good fit with my carpet! The sturdiness is subpar and the thickness is appropriate!

Works great
I needed something to keep my cat from tearing up the carpet near the corner of the door. She claws at it when the door is closed and she wants in. This works perfectly ð. Use a hairdryer or heat gun to soften it up and release the tension in it, that takes the curl out of it and let’s it lie flat. Cut to shape…I cut mine with large kitchen scissors and didn’t have any issues. Great cheap solution!
