Worked great!
I bought this carrier to bring my 14 pound Pomeranian on vacation with me. She is also proportionally taller than the breed standard Pomeranian. It was perfect! It was well made and sturdy and I feel it was really worth the money. It was actually a little big for my dog height wise and a bit bulky when used as a backpack, however, I wanted to use it as a car seat for a long drive and wanted to make sure it was big enough for her to be comfortable. As a carseat it was excellent. I purchased a nice thick sherpa liner and folded it to put in the bottom to make it more comfortable as the bottom is hard and that worked great. My girl was able to curl up to sleep in the car seat or stretch out and lay her head on the edge of the zippered bottom or she could sit up and look out the window. She seemed to like the seat and was very comfortable. While shopping in stores I zipped her in and used it as a back pack. She had plenty of head room and I didn’t feel that I was cramming her into anything and nobody gave me any problems for having a dog in the store. As I said, it is a little bulky and I probably could have fit her in the smaller version, however, I feel I would have been cramming her in and felt better that she was comfortable in the bigger version. I also used it as a pull cart at times between stores and it seemed to work very well. I was very, very happy with the backpack and look forward to many more vacations using this.

Perfect solution for a non-tiny dog
Our dog is roughly the size of a cocker spaniel, and fit very nicely into this carrier. The wheels and retractable handle make it far easier to bring our pet on train trips. We have not attempted to use it on an airplane; as we have the XL version, I’m pretty sure it exceeds the limits for airline travel. It does come with shoulder straps to use as a backpack, and a long over-the-shoulder strap, which would be helpful in traversing stairs or very bumpy terrain for short periods of time, but it would be very uncomfortable with a larger dog such as ours for any length of time. You may find that train staff will give it a second look – as in the “upright” position it’s far taller than Amtrak’s guidelines. The XL version technically exceeds Amtrak dimensions (19″ long x 14″ wide x 10.5″ high), but nobody has ever tried to measure it. When one employee did question it, we showed that we could lay it on its side, and it looked close enough that the employee didn’t push the issue. I don’t think it would fit under a seat; you could probably put it in the overhead carrier with a little help but I’m sure your pet would not appreciate it.There are outside AND interior pockets, which are useful in stashing small necessities.

The best cat carrier ever
My cat loved it she’s a large cat she has thyroid disease and has gained quite a bit of weight this was the only one that I could find that was a good price and she adjusted to she fits in a perfectly she’s comfortable it’s easy to use it’s so versatile I bought it in so many different sizes for all of my cats this is definitely a must-have it’s got pockets for you to put paperwork and you have so many different ways that you can carry it and I always get compliments from other people when I use it

A good,l versatile carrier.
These are excellent carriers for our use. We have two small breed dogs that fit perfectly in the carriers. The carriers are light weight, easy to secure in the car (I can fit both of them in the passenger side of my small sports car – one on the seat and one on the floor), and the fact that they’re on wheels is a plus. The dogs can sit, stand or lay down comfortably. There is an internal clip that you can clip to their harness or collar, so you can leave the front screen open if you want to without worrying about the dog jumping out.Our puppies are not heavy duty chewers, but I could see where these carriers might not hold up to a rambunctious dog. The fabric and screening likely wouldn’t contain it. Even for our dogs, I would never leave them unattended in the carrier for long.EDIT: We have had these carriers for 3 years now and use them regularly to transport our now full-grown pups (one 10-pound, the other 15-pound). When not in use, we store the carriers in an unairconditioned garage. The carriers remain in excellent condition. The zippers, stitching, lining, screening material and sides have resisted wear and dirt and look virtually as good as new. I was a bit concerned when we bought them because they are soft-sided. However, they have held up very well and I expect we will continue to use them for years to come.

My daughter’s cat LOVES it.
My daughter’s cat LOVES it so much he sneaks into it and sleeps. My daughter wanted something to carry her 2 Maine Coon cats (who are huge), in case of an emergency, such as a house fire or tornado. Her oldest cat is so happy with it, he sneaks into it to nap. Both cats fit comfortably in it, so she can take them camping with her, or travel with them safely. Very sturdy and strong, and although my girl is only about 100 lb., she can carry both the cats, using as a backpack.

Quality
I ordered a different cat/dog carrier that was inferiorly made, so I went back to Pet-Gear and I am so happy that I did. I returned the other carrier to the Vendor.

carrier works like a wheeled suitcase. It is large enough for both my cats at the same time. I have had to find a small lock because they learned to push the zipper open when they want out.
Heidi –
Exactly what I was looking for. Convenient and easy to use. Wish there were handles on the sides for easier lift out of the vehicle, but besides that, works well. My cats donât seem to mind them.
Amazon Customer –
This is fabulous for sitting nicely on the seat for trips, but its a bit broad and awkward as a backpack. I found it too uncomfortable. But as a carrier its terrific.

We have a 14 year old bichon. Heâs still very active but cannot go for longer than 3-4 kilometres on our hikes. This backpack has been perfect for him. Itâs spacious for him (heâs about 15 pounds). We did need to put a pad in the bottom for more comfort. The only thing Iâd change about it is having a strap that also goes around the waist to take pressure off the shoulders. Very happy with the purchase!

As mentioned by others, it needs a middle strap to secure it better on your back. Also needs padding on the back to prevent the roller hand bar extension bar from hurting your back when in use.
