Awesome correction for sensitive/alert female pit-bull terrier (60 lbs), not so awesome for male pit-bull terrier 90 lbs
I have an annoying 2 yr female pit-bull terrier approx 60 lbs. that this unit is necessity due to her constant sharp barking. She is easily corrected by the vibration. I had previously purchased the vibration/shock1/shock2 which had a remote that i had to continuously grab the remote & give a manual correction, what can i say other than i dont always remember where i leave the remote. This unit is automatic so even when i am away from home i will not bother my neighbors (which had politely mentioned how annoying her bark is). However I have a 5 yr male pit-bull terrier that this unit does nothing to prevent him from barking, although he is not the nuisance I would liked to have purchased quantity 2 to prevent continuous yelping/barking.

Very disappointed.
The device would not vibrate when my small 12 pound poodle barked. She would bark and bark with no effect. I would be close to hear or pick her up when someone came to the door and she was barking the device didn’t do anything. I the thing blinked regularly so it wasn’t the batteries and when I set it down on the table I could get it to go off. Very disappointed.

IT WORKS!
I have tried many different products for my dog, who thinks it is his mission in life to scare off all intruders anywhere near our apartment. Unfortunately, because it’s an apartment, there are always “intruders” in his space, so he barks constantly. I have tried a collar with remote, which only works when he hasn’t hidden the remote from us, and it’s handy. I tried a machine that doesn’t require a remote and can be used within 5 feet, but it kept going off with TV sounds, and was just irritating the dog. This collar REALLY works! The more worked up he gets, the more it vibrates, and he starts to settle down. After about 2 weeks, he started realizing that barking it was triggered the vibration (which he hates). He has actually started learning that barking is NOT what we want him to do and it works even when we’re not home! It’s been about a month and I notice he only lets out a little “mrrph” instead of a full-on bark, so he is learning, and the barking problem has gotten so much better! (Now, if he sees his favorite frenemy from down the hall, he will not be cowed, but for the most part, even my neighbors have said they’ve noticed a huge difference.) Thank you for a great product!

Doesnât really work….
I have 4 greyhounds – a fenced yard and a always available doggy-door.One of my neighbors complained that, “as its getting nice out – they are playing and barking an awful lot”. My internal response was, “get the hell off my property!” – but my actual response was more apologetic. I asked all of the other neighbors if the dogs bother them to which they all replied no.Just to look like I am making an effort – I bought 2 of these for our most vocal dogs. They do not work at all on them – but at least it looks like I made an effort to please the neighbor. I honestly don’t even turn them on half of the time. Why am I still giving it 3 stars? Well they are cheap here (3X the price at local pet stores) and they are the most humane way I can look like I am putting in an effort.

A Waste of my Time
This product works as describes, but it did not work at all on my dog. I tried it for two weeks with no avail. He kept barking just as if he was not wearing it. I was quite disappointed because now I am stuck with a collar that does not work, an have to order another one.

Good Collar – Hate the Batteries
I’m buying a second collar. I have 4 small dachshund mix rescue dogs. The collar is 100% effective on one, 80% effective on another dog. I bought a vibrating collar with a remote, but found out the hard way what the difference is between a training collar and a bark collar. I kept the training collar because I will use, but still needed a second bark collar. The vibration is totally appropriate for my small dogs. The vibration of the training collar is stronger, almost too strong. My only complaint with this collar is that it is not USB rechargeable, and that you have to buy proprietary batteries that are expensive. I’m fairly careful to turn the collar off when its not on a dog. The batteries do last for several months. I probably need two a year.

Can’t say they will work for your dog but they worked FANTASTIC for a foster dog I had that had a neurotic barking problem. I could not distract her when she would go in to her neurotic barking to work on redirecting her but this collar did. I do not believe in shock collars or punitive training so this was perfect. It’s not an end all to a barking problem but can be used as PART of a training program. After she associated the barking to the vibration, she would temporarily stop. I would also clap my hands and make a loud “PSSSSSTT” sound so if she wasn’t wearing the collar, she would associate those sounds (redirections) to stop barking. I would them have her sit and either remove her from the trigger that led to barking or praise her for her stopping. After a few weeks, she no longer needs to wear it but everyone needs to understand to address problem barking, it’s not a slap a collar (any kind) on a dog and not do any work. Also, please keep in mind that all dogs need to be allowed some time to bark. Barking is the only way a dog has to communicate. People aren’t expected to never utter a word so don’t expect a dog to never bark. They probably need more exercise, walks, stimulation if they are barking non-stop.

Parece ser que mi perro le importa poco, el aparato si sirve si vibra pero a mi perro no le importa y sigue ladrando, creo que necesitan tener mas fuerza de vibracion o diferentes dormas o ser mas largas

This collar is a great option for humane bark control. I ordered it for my very noisy chihuahua and it was very effective.

I purchased two collars, for my dashchund puppies. The collar worked well on my little female, she did not like the vibration at all, and stopped barking. My little male ignores it all together. Might as well have a regular collar on.
Lu-Anne Clark –
Not at all. All 3 of my dogs ignored the mechanics of it and the barking continued. I will try a different product.

Works as described, although you have to follow the instructions on placement of the collar exactly. It seems to be so strongly designed to avoid buzzing your dog for anything less than a true loud bark, that if it is not placed very tightly in the correct spot it won’t work. When I tightened it up almost to the point where I was worried about it, and ensured the unit was over my dog’s throat it worked exactly as described. This is the reason for it losing one star as it isn’t a forgiving unit.My 45 pound lab mix was being too protective of our campsites at campgrounds, and we wanted to reduce her warning barks at passerbys. She is a fairly meek dog, and I didn’t think she needed a shock unit so we decided to try this. With the collar on properly, she would bark once, backup at the vibration, shake her head, and stop barking. However, she quickly figured out the threshold for the device and would continue to growl at people. She even developed a quieter “growl-bark” that didn’t trigger the unit. So only a partial success, but not the fault of the unit.
