HEFTY and BIG!
This is one hefty and big carrier that is great for long road trips. With the built in litter box area, it is very ideal. Its also made really well. High quality with a lot of attention to detail. Such as the clasps that close the zippers together to keep those escape artists in. All the items that come with it as well, pouches, water bowl, sling to allow two cats to sleep in the big area, etc. Its super nice and way bigger than I was expecting. VERY happy!!

Far exceeded expectations!
TL;DRThis is a very large, very impressive cat carrier with more than enough space for 2 cats to hang out during long trips. A lot of thought went into the design and manufacturing process of this carrier, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to any cat parent planning a long car trip with their cat(s).All of the detailsI have 3 cats and multiple soft carriers that are great for shorter trips to the vet, but I’m planning to move halfway across the country in the coming year. After evacuating to SC with my cats due to Hurricane Milton, I’ve been hoping to find a more spacious carrier to accommodate them during the much longer multi-day drive for the move, and the Petskd Side Expandable Large Cat carrier looked like it might fit the bill, so I was excited to order it.Well, the Petskd carrier arrived today, and it is even bigger and better than the listing portrayed! It’s HUGE in comparison to the standard soft carrier, with plenty of space for 2 cats to lounge together, possibly all 3 if the side is expanded and the litter box isn’t placed within the expansion. I would still like to figure out a way to make the entire backseat area a safe, contained space for the cats, so that they have access to a litter box in between nightly stops without me worrying about them escaping from the car when I stop to refill the gas tank. I’m hoping I might be able to securely attach a second Petskd Expandable carrier, and may contact them to inquire about it.Enough about my needs, on to the more pressing information for you!As mentioned, the carrier is huge. It arrives in a BIG box, and all of the components are in 2 huge plastic zipper bags. 1 bag containing the carrier and a bag of accessories, and a second slightly smaller bag with the accessories.The carrier itself measures 24x17x17 (6936 cubic inches or about 4cubic feet) before the expansion. Most soft carriers for cats are in the 17x11x11 (2057cubic inches or 1.19cubic feet)range. The expanded area is 12.5x14x12.5 (2187 cubic inches!), so even that is somehow bigger than the typical cat carrier. The amount of additional space available for cats to move around in is really fantastic, and I hope will make for a less stressful car trip for them.The carrier is well-designed and well-made. The zippers are very smooth, and each zipper can be securely latched with a tiny clip lock. The stitching is well-done, with no stray threads visible, and the seams seem secure.The expansion was smartly designed – when closed, it does not intrude into the main body of the carrier even after opening and closing the expansion several times to test it. The fabric of the expansion intruding into the body of the carrier is a problem I’ve encountered with several other expandable carriers from other manufacturers, so I’m very pleased that Petskd designed their carrier in a way that avoids this issue.There are heavy-duty hand straps on the carrier in addition to the shoulder strap that is in the accessories bag.On the subject of accessories…The accessories included with the carrier are not the typical throwaways. They’re just as nicely thought out and high quality as the carrier itself.The hammock fits securely into the main body, and I’m not worried about it supporting the weight of a cat on a long trip, though I do question if it would fit or support more than 1 cat at a time (mine are snugglers).The removable base for the main compartment of the carrier is designed with a fleece cover (removable for washing), a hard layer for stability, and a soft cushion in between the two for comfort.There are 2 bags included. The first bag has clips to attach to the carrier and will be perfect for holding small amounts of food, medications (gabapentin is a must for my cats for longer trips), treats, etc. The second bag is round and doesn’t have clips to attach it to the carrier, but it should be a good fit for food bowls and the collapsible water bowl included with the accessories.Also included is a small collapsible litter box that fits into the expansion space. It’s pretty tiny, so while it should work for smaller cats, I’m not entirely certain it will work as well as I’d hoped for my cats, 2 of whom are over 14lbs, especially my very tall, long, lanky male who is an enthusiastic litter kicker. But, I’m willing to give it a shot, as it also seems to be well thought out and has a waterproof liner.Another little bonus I missed in the description when ordering is the luggage tag that comes already attached to the carrier – it’s very heavy-duty and should last for years, even with extensive travel. There’s also a bell attached to the carrier and luggage tag, which seems to be as high-quality as everything else that comes with this carrier, however, I might remove it before the move, as the idea of several days of jingles every time I hit a bump in the road doesn’t sound entirely appealing to me.Considering how well made this carrier is, the size, all of the extras included with it, and how much more room your cat(s) will have, the Petskd carrier is worth the current $99.99 asking price.All in all, there is a lot to love about this extra large cat carrier, and I’m looking forward to using it during our move in the coming year! I’ll update if I get any information regarding ways to expand further.For Petskd – It would be incredibly helpful for disabled consumers like me who have difficulty lifting/carrying heavier things if this carrier were offered in a wheeled option as well.
