Update: the company sent a replacement. 5 stara for customer service! As easy as sending an email and voila, the cats are back on the attack! So far the new one is spinning and the sleep cycle is 5 minutes. I still wish it had a sensor to “see” the cats chasing the laser without hitting the frame. I think if it could “see” them interacting it wouldn’t “sleep” so early.Original: This thing worked great out of the box, but basically stopped moving after 2 days of constant (ab)use. The lights and the laser still work, but it’s movement is a death flicker.Other issues:Battery life is maybe 2 hours after an all night charge.I’m confused by it’s “sleep mode.” It goes to sleep after maybe 2 minutes, and it’s NOT in “interactive” mode. To “wake” it, it must be pounced on “hard.” My cat’s canNOT “wake” it with their strength (and I got a 14 pound barn boy). I can wake it with a push, but the point is for the cats to use this when I’m at work.My cat’s are feather chasers and ball fetchers, but the thing they like here is the laser. This is their 1st laser toy and they love it! But, I’m sad they don’t really use the feathers at all. I should have bought a cheaper laser pointer.It does handle carpet, but just ok. The good thing here is it’s movement radius is about 2 ft. So I can leave it in the middle of the wooden kitchen floor, and I know it won’t roam 5 ft away onto the thick carpet (when it was moving).Best thing:If you don’t get a lemon like us, this is the most quiet rolling toy out of 5 I’ve tried. Bc it’s lack of roaming, it doesn’t bump into everything at night.The tires/wheels seem very sturdy, and it repelled cat/human hair collection the most.It came with two feather toys that are good quality (but in unnatural colors for those who prefer au naturale). I’m really sad they didn’t care for these. The company gave 2 different spots to place them: on top or at the back (tail like).Overall, I’ll ask for a replacement and hope for the best. I know this is a good company that cares about cats.

It broke in 2 days
Update:After just 2 days, one of the wheels doesn’t spin anymore, so it just spins around in a circle. There is nothing blocking the wheel so it seems that the motor that controls that wheel broke. Now I understand all the 1 star ratings… I ordered a replacement but I am not pleased about having to go through the trouble of return of returning this cheap defective item. Amazon customer service is not what is used to be :(Original review:From the moment I took out this crazy toy, it became her favorite. If your cat is timid, this is probably not the best toy for it, but we have a Siberian cat that needs a lot of stimulation and this thing has her running around the house chasing lights and spinning feathers. Even timid cats would probably follow this thing around and end up chasing the laser. We have only had it for 2 days, and I’ll change my review if it doesn’t hold up. We have two other automatic rolling balls, and this is the best so far. It is large enough that it doesn’t get stuck under furniture. It is slightly less obnoxious than the other two as it bumps into stuff even though we have hard wood floors. It is still annoying, but less annoying than a bored cat blocking the TV to get attention only to stare at the feather wand we are waving forever before she decides to pounce. The wheels haven’t gotten fur stuck in them like the other toys, possibly because it’s too big to end up underneath our furniture where hair balls usually are. The laser is a great addition as the patterns it makes are much less predictable than the automatic laser toy I also bought her. I just wish it came with spare attachments. She did knock it over once and it just kept spinning on its wheel instead of righting itself, but even that was entertaining for her because of the spinning wand and laser. I like that it seems to stay on for longer than the 5 minutes the description stated. One of her other balls stops moving after 5 minutes unless it is touched and she never does that so when it stops she quickly gets bored. This thing kept going for like 15 minutes and she grabs it as soon as it stops making it continue. It still on the first charge even though she played with it for 2 hours so far so battery life is good. All in all, this is a very good toy if you are looking for something to help your cat get some exercise and keep them happy.

Worked, then didnât, but then did
So it worked when I first charged it completely up for about 30 mins. Then it started spinning in circles like the one wheel wasnât moving. I inspected and there was no hair or anything else obstructing the operation of it. I spun the wheel a few times manually to see if it would âcatchâ while running and it would intermittently work. The cat got bored so we didnât play with it for like 2 weeks. Turned it on again the other day and it works again and I havenât had any problems with it since. Iâd give 5 stars because it is a really good toy that my cat really likes, but because of the issue with it not wanting to properly work only 30 mins after starting it up, I gave it a 3. I havenât had any problems with the laser light on it. The device itself seems durable, aside from the wheel malfunction. It does stay charged up for a long time.
