Good quality and very easy to use. I love it!
I bought this harness in size medium for my 10 pound mini dachshund puppy and it fits well. It is a little bit loose around the neck area but she’ll grow into it. Her chest is around 14inches and her neck is 9.5inches. Since the velcro part is adjustable, I can put the harness over her sweater and her jacket.I tried many other harnesses before deciding that this one is the easiest one to use, and the most comfortable for my pup. The other harnesses were very hard to close/open the clasp and difficult to put on my dog since it had to go over her head.Some other harnesses I used seemed to choke my dog or hurt her throat when she pulled on the leash but this one does not seem to hurt her at all. If you are worried about your dog being able to escape the harness, as long as you get the right size, it shouldn’t be a problem. However, if the harness is a little loose, your dog may be able to back out of the harness.I don’t think I am going to ever use a different harness again! I have been using this harness for about 3 months now and it has gotten a bit dirty but it is still holding up very well and the velcro has not worn out at all. I definitely recommend this harness for puppies and dachshunds. It is a little more expensive than some other harnesses found on amazon but it is definitely worth it.

The soft vest harness is well-made and appears very comfortable and durable. The large size was too big and bulky for my 11 pound poodle, but the customer service was excellent and refunded my money. My poodle has a very slender build (chest diameter of 16.5 inches), so the size that would best fit an 11 pound dog of another breed might well be the large size. You might have to do as I did and get one of each size to see what fits the best. Be advised that the jump from the medium size to the large is appreciable: it’s not just the diffence in chest diameter the harness will accomodate – the hardware is considerably larger and more heavy duty on the large harness. It would be ideal if there was a size between the medium and the large, but the medium was barely able to fit my poodle comfortably because the fabric is a little stretchy and not stiff at all. The corresponding size to a medium in this vest style to the style of Puppia soft harness that has a fixed neck opening is a size small. The hardware goes from dainty to larger when you go from the small to the medium in the style with the fixed neck opening. This vest style is slightly more involved to put on than the style with the fixed neck opening, but I prefer it for my poodle because she pulls when she sees a person or another dog. When she pulls, the vest harness doesn’t put any pressure at all on her trachea area whereas the one with the fixed neck opening does a little. Granted, had I gone with the medium rather than the small in the fixed neck opening style, that may not have been an issue. Another reason I prefer the vest harness over the other is that it seems a little more comfortable. Also, since it’s a little vest, it gives my poodle a bit of warmth in a cool house and I feel good about leaving it on her all day. I love Puppia’s Soft Vest Harness so well that I really, REALLY wish it came in “designer” colors and little frilly designs, too! The Puppia soft harness with the fixed neck opening has some absolutely adorable versions! I’m impressed with the look, quality, and comfort of the Puppia vests. Now that I know my dog’s size, I’ll order a couple of different colors in the soft vest style and hope for some new, frilly versions in the near future!

Perfect fit, perfect look, great price!
I have tried various harnesses on my short, stout little Pug, but if they were big enough around her neck and chest, they were too long. This Puppia sounded really cute and cool for the Texas summers, so I took a chance and it’s great! I got the extra large because her measurements are: chest 19″, neck 17″, weight about 17 lb. Now would it be too long for her compact little/big body? NO, it was just right, and so easy to put on! I hate to admit it, but some harnesses, with all their convoluted straps and buckles, take a long time to even get the thing on. Lola cooperated well with this harness and just stepped into it. Then she stood there like she was paralyzed and finally started walking backwards! She walked all the way across the room backwards, and it was really funny. She eventually figured out that she could go forward when I tempted her with a treat.I got the harness in purple, XL, and it’s super cute and fits just right. I also got the matching leash, and it was a great price too. I was a little worried that they might not be very high quality because they were priced so reasonably, but they’re excellent quality, and I’m very pleased with them. They are definitely meant for smaller type dogs, so don’t get one for your German Shepherd. Even the XL is not going to work Plus, they’re not meant for true obedience training. But they’re perfect for the casual walk about. Highly recommended.

MEETS ALL CRITERIA
This is the perfect harness. I have had trouble finding the perfect harness because my dogs are 16 and have a lot of arthritis. One of my dogs has her arthritis on her right shoulder and most of the harnesses rub across that area making them painful for her. This one goes up enough on the arm that it doesn’t bother her right shoulder. Also, most harnesses slip to the right and left, and I’m constantly having to pull the leash right and left which makes my dog think I’m asking her to go right or left. This one doesn’t slip, making this comfortable for ME as well! It makes walking them much more enjoyable because it is extremely irritating to have to pull right or left – and you don’t have to with these. One more thing, if you put a sweater on your dog, the ring is at the top, not at the back, which makes it so much better. The size is pretty accurate. I love this harness!
