Great Concept, Horrible Execution
First of all, it came broken. This thing is cheaply made. It arrived with the handle busted up, the tip of the rod busted off & in pieces, the string falling off, and reel falling off. I decided to try and fix it cuz my cat had already discovered it and wanted to play. Had to get rid of the broken plastic and duct tape up the handle, as well as attach the top & fix the line that was falling off. I was excited to order an item where I could cast out the toy & play with my cat in a bigger scale. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, this reel is a joke & there is no casting it. It’s pretty much just for show. Yes, it does move, but very slowly & I’m pretty sure there’s no baring inside. The string barely comes out when you do a casting motion and then just slowly releases in front of you from the weight of the toy. Not that it would go far anyway, cuz the string is so short. So basically, you’re getting the same thing as a regular cat wand, but more expensive…and more bulky…and more broken. Oh, and did I mention the real squeaks? The plastic grinds on plastic causing some awesome, nonstop squeaking when using the piece of junk real. And there’s this little metal piece that sticks out of the real that you’re supposed to use as a lock/unlock to cast. It’s and unfinished aluminum like strip, sharp, sticks, and is hard to maneuver. So over all, the only thing decent is the toys you can attach. Even those are disappointing as they all have bells, most of which are connected in a way I cannot remove. My cat won’t play with the ones with bells. So ya, I paid for a busted up, barely working, glorified cat wand with only a few usable (for me) toy attachments. I’d say save your $$. Buy something else.

This is a fun toy for cats and people, but does need longer string.
This is a really fun cat toy. Cats love it and casting the lure is fun for me. It also comes with several lures which was a nice surprise. The negative thing I must say is that the string is too short. I would guess it to be around three feet. This is not nearly long enough in my mind. Adding a good length of string to it made it ever so much better. I did have a user error moment with it also, but it was my fault. There is a little toggle switch on the left side of the reel that makes casting much easier. Again, do plan on adding more string if you purchase this.

Very short string and no ability to cast cat toy
This is a great concept. But, not in execution. At full extension, the wand and string give you the reach of no more than any existing short wand toy. There is something sticking in the reel part, so there is no ability to cast the toy and you can barely turn the crank to wind the 12 inches of string back. That amount of sting is so short, when fully paid-out, the line would barely reach your own feet, much less reach across the room like you would expect. Poor manufacturing or assembly tolerances, and no quality inspection before shipping render it a big disappointment going to the landfill. Buy one of the long, extensible wands instead. They work great.

Cats love it – but not super durable
This is our cats favorite toy by FAR!They are obsessed with it! But they still have their claws and they tore this bad boy up within 2 months.The string is about 10ft long I’d say. Not really for reeeling in… But it’s a good drag and wiggle type of toy.We had to constantly retie the string after it breaking but hey. It’s a cheap cat toy and they are addicted to it. So all in all. I’d buy again.
