Fantastic retractable wrist leash. Vast improvement over the previous model.
I love this leash so far! It allows me to “wear” it around my wrist rather than having to hold and control a hard plastic handle.The leash itself is lightweight, small and fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. Also, the wristband allows me to walk my dogs on a cold day keeping hands in my warm pockets, rather than exposing them to the elements. I can also attach the leash to a chair or table when dining out with my pups .I purchased a few of the previous “mini” model, whose leash was made of thin ribbon and a weird lobster claw hook that was hard to use and felt like crappy quality.My dog, Phoebe, AKA “Little Piranha,” chewed through 8 of those other leashes. I kept buying them due to their size, portability and low price (around $9-10). However, I always ran the risk of being caught on a walk without a functioning leash!This new version of that leash is far superior in many ways:1) the leash itself is made of thicker and (hopefully) sturdier tape.2) the hook is “normal” and easy to attach to the harness.3) the length of the leash is almost 10 feet (vs. 6′), making it suitable for all types of walks, including leisurely ones in a park with space.4) The amount of tension offered is perfect…not too strong or weak. Ideal for a small or gentle medium-sized dog.The only think I’m NOT loving about this leash is the locking mechanism. With this model you need to push the little tab DOWN to lock it. The previous one required pulling it UP, which I found easier and more natural for some reason. This isn’t a big deal…I just need to re-train my brain and fingers to activate the “brake” a different way.Overall I’m very happy with this leash and recommend it to people with small/medium dogs who don’t pull that much.Since items like this get discontinued all the time, I’m stocking up on different colors and also purchased a few as gifts. So far this is my go-to favorite leash and I’d like to make sure there’s always one on hand, especially if my Little Piranha destroys a few of them.

Amazingly strong
I was very surprised at the quality and strength of this little leash. It is easy to lock and is a nice distance to allow your small dog to run ahead of you. When it meets resistance/dog pulling etc it holds up well in the locked position. It retracts well. I keep it clipped to my 20 pound schnoodle. I’ve just ordered another for my 30 pound Shihtzu.

Broken cord
I bought this to replace a regular reel, which I thought had broken. Looking at its small and easily managed format, and not needing more than six feet for my 18 pound shih-tzu mix anyway, I decided to use it instead. Last summer he frequently ran ahead of my electric trike, and developed some bad habits. Well, lo and behold, he ran towards a dogs’ house, and broke the cord. He is behaving much better, but not enough better. The wrist strap is still OK, and I have replaced the cord with a zip-tie. If that doesn’t work, I have some more nylon cord, and picture-wire is next on the list. He is a strong dog, vet thinks part terrier, but probably not Yorkie. LOL!Later– he broke the wrist strap! I have replaced both with a heavier nylon cord. I don’t use it as designed. Due to disability, I wear it attached to a belt.

Best leash ever!!
I have a 15 lb dog who pulls a bit but not all the time. This leash is perfect! It gives her a little freedom but not too much and easily holds her weight when pulling. For the most part I can walk with the leash around my wrist which is sooooo nice for being able to put my hands in my pockets. It’s super compact so I can just throw it in my purse or pocket when not in use. That’s honestly the best part to me. I absolutely love it.
