The Evolution of Dog Training details how to teach your dog, one step at a time, without causing your dog pain or fear. It carefully explains how training with choke chains started and why trainers are now using clickers instead.

You’ll also learn what current research and scientific studies tell us about how dogs learn, making it easier to a turn your beloved pet into a well-behaved dog.

Whether you have been training dogs for decades or this is your very first time, this book will help you sort through all of the opinions so you can train effectively and humanely.

    Understandable and informative!
This is a well written book that is easy to read and understand. The key take away for me was to focus on the positive behaviors in my young dog.

    Very Helpful Book!
Loved this book! Shannon explains, in layman’s terms, how dog training has evolved over the years. And, explains why positive reinforcement is so much easier, and kinder, for everyone – you and your dog. Thank you for an awesome book! So happy I bought it and will definitely encourage my friends to purchase!

    You need this book
I honestly bought this book because I’ve known Shannon since elementary school and had to support her. But I’m sure it’s absolutely amazing!

She seems to be able to back up what she says by quoting science but tbh I’m not convinced. She also keeps comparing dogs to humans with regards to training techniques. To me this is nonsense as dogs don’t think like us. Personally I believe most dogs need a pack leader but this is just my opinion. Check out fenrir on you tube as he seems to know what he’s doing. Again all just my opinion
