I use it under my cats’ water bowl, and it works pretty well. It is a good size for their water bowl, and it’s easy to clean. I wish they had a green option though.

A Must for Cats with Big Appetites
Rikki, my last cat was 13yrs old when I adopted him for his sparkling personalityâhis lack of front claws was another incentive. ð I realize now that Rikki was a very neat eater & ditto at his water fountain. But as a precaution before I brought home an almost 2-year-old male cat, I bought this mat to place under his feeding dish anyway. (For Alexander, though, I follow Cornell University’s admonition about dry food for cats, so there’s only one food dish. And, since cats are said to prefer eating & drinking in separate areas, Alexander’s water fountain is several feet away.)I’m very glad I bought this round mat because this spry little blue-eyed, blue & white but fully coated Sphynx cat outcross with a voracious appetite is anything but neat! I probably wouldn’t have noticed, though, had Rikki not been such a tidy eater.My Alexander-at-his-feeding-dish pics on this dark gray mat show: his initial starting to eat; his searching for more (after a mere 30 seconds) at the back of his dish; & checking the oval mat below his dish for anything he might have dropped on that mat which I learned was a necessity.(Yes, Alexander was under a vet’s care, no, he’s not diabetic, & his former owner, an experienced breeder, commented that he could really eat! I’m actually grateful for his appetite, though, because Rikki’s chronic kidney disease killed his appetite, making getting him to eat a constant struggle as he progressed to his final age of 20.)In closing, this dark gray round mat with cute little embossed paw prints & a sensible raised edge is very easy to clean & I would purchase it again should the need arise.
