Slow Feeder Dog Bowl
I wasn’t sure what to expect. I read the reviews and talked to friends with dogs. I have a Jack Russell Terroir and she would gulp her food in 10-15 seconds. I am not kidding – she inhaled it soooo quickly at times I thought she was going to choke it down. I bought this bowl and it takes her about 1 minute to finish her food. She is sill super excited at meal times and attacks her food with vengeance – like its her last meal but with a couple of pauses as she navigates the bowl checking for the morsels she may have missed and for more food. For those of you – with a Jack Russel — wahoo!The metal is great. She would have chewed up any silicone bowl. The diameter of the bowl is HUGE in comparison to a regular non slow feeder bowl – but I guess that is what makes it helpful as she has to look all around the bowl indentations to find the food. (She eats dry dog food.) Super easy to clean. I recommend.

Not very effective at slowing eating
Chose this bowl hoping it would slow down eating and because it is stainless steel. Our 32 lb dog eats in 2 minutes and 5 seconds with normal bowl.She ate in 3 minutes 55 seconds, extending eating time by only 1 minute 50 seconds which is still way too fast. The bowl “bumps” seem too spread out to be effective for her small mouth. It might be more effective for a larger breed.
