I am very happy with this Sunbeam Fleece Electric Throw Blanket. Sunbeam also makes a larger version for beds but I decided to go with the “throw size” because it is the perfect size for use when in a recliner. I really like this throw. I chose the navy plaid design and it is one of the best looking pads/throws/ blankets that I have owned. It will probably be left out a lot this winter so it will nice to have something that is not an embarrassment to the rest of the décor. The electric cord is a nice length. I didn’t measure but I am estimating, the cord length is maybe 6 and a half feet from socket to the blanket controls, then the connection from controls to the throw itself is another couple of feet. It has a rather basic control with a power button to turn it on. The selections are as follows. Press once, the unit turns on and is set on it’s lowest setting, press the button again and the unit switches to the medium setting, press the button and the unit dials itself up to the high setting. Press the button again and the unit turns itself off. That’s it. There is an automatic 3 hour Auto off function to it and there is no option to select or de-select that function. It is built in to the design of it. The size of the throw is 50 inches x 60 inches, consisting of a very soft fleece material. When I unboxed the throw, it was rolled up with a very light plastic and elastic band and it seems to me, this will store easier and more naturally if you roll it up more like the way you would roll a yoga matt and then slip this band around it. Rolling the throw would seem to be easier on the electric coils as opposed to folding it like a blanket. Having said that, I am not sure how durable the band that it came with will be. All in all, this is a great electric throw. I have been very satisfied with Sunbeam products in the past and this seems to be another winner. There was no compensation or discount given in any form for this review.

Best Blanket I’ve Ever Used!
OMG! This is really the best blanket iâve ever used!I love that there are three heat settings. This blanket heats up pretty fast.Iâve only had this blanket for about a week, but it has made such a difference. To my surprise this heated throw blanket it very soft like a regular plush throw blanket. This is the perfect blanket for a chilly movie night. Because this blanket heats quickly I would not recommend sleeping with it, or keeping it on high for more than 5 mins (It gets pretty hot on high). Very nice throw that we use as a blanket for an elderly relative who gets cold very easily. We bought three. The size is perfect, large enough to fully cover him, but not so bulky that it gets in the way. My main complaint is the cord from the control is too short, making it difficult to reach the control if the plug is at the bottom of the blanket, near his feet. We have to place the throw with the plug at the top, just below his chin. That is inconvenient, but we’ve adapted. But it is a design flaw. Also, the control of one blanket sometimes gets warm to the touch and shuts itself down, with the red light blinking to indicate that. This is irritating, but also manageable.

Worked well for a while (like 2 months), then has slowly stopped heating as well. I have a bad back and mine was in near constant use. I guess if you only need it every-so-often it’s great. If you plan on using it frequently, choose another brand. It’s a decent size, comfy fabric and I liked the look of it but it’s not made for heavy use.

Our Cat Loves It
We got this electric blanket for our 8 year old cat. She tends to get cold in winter and takes time for her to warm up. She had been spending a lot of time on top of anything that is warm.This blanket works well. It heats up nicely and is soft to the touch. Our cats love it. Our 8 year old cat just melts in it when it is cold and we have it turned on for her.The only grip I have is that you have no control over the fact that after 3 hours the blanket auto shuts off. I assume this is a safety thing.

I love this. I work up in the Arctic and in the winter months my room can get quite cold at my camp. The biggest problem is how dry it is up here, so when you turn on the heater, it dries things out even more, to where I get constant nose bleeds. This little thing has been a nose-saver. I just put this under my fitted sheet like a mattress pad, plug it in and control the heat as desired. I have another one that has been folded on the foot of my bed all winter, I have not needed it, the bottom one keeps me plenty warm.

The control cord that actually powers the blanket works for a few weeks and then it just starts to blink. No power. You have to unplug it. Wait for a minute plug it back in and then it works fine till you shut it off and then it keeps blinking again. Something seriously wrong with the electrics and I believe this could be an actual fire hazard. Do not buy this product.
