I shouldn’t give this 5 starts – but for the price –
It checks all the essential boxes – especially price – I got it on sale in a beat-up box for four zero.But it came shaken to bits (nothing broken) and the flip top wasn’t assembled. That’s quite tricky as the hinges look ready to snap off if you make a wrong move. I did it by squeezing each segment really hard (4 segments total) and they popped into place. I’m pretty sure you could do this wrong.The thing is not huge – not heavy – just a bit wide. I store it pointing side-out.One of the rubber feet was off – just a sticker.It’s not bad looking. Comes with a foil knife just loose in there. And it’s decent thickness plastic – just 50% too flimsy for the size. But hey – that’s a lot of material you’re not paying for.It only has two sets of holes for I guess 12 and 18 inch rolls. Easy enough to drill another set. I’m thinking I’m going to upgrade to shipping wrap in the future – which is the same material only 4x thicker – but it comes only in 17″. This all took a while to figure out! This is a great compromise – not a production model – but with a little extra effort it will cover that plate without a crease and drum – tight = what I was looking for. With the PVC material – no oxygen will get in – and no bear will eat my food that s/he can’t smell.(That was the original Saran Wrap ad.) It’s safe – just don’t cook in it.

Great for light use (not heavy duty)
I purchased this for my light-use kitchen because disposable boxes in my area are no longer sold with the slide cutter and once you try a slide cutter you will never go back to those horrible little blades! I also love the idea of not having the cardboard box that gets all yucky or broken down over time.Although it does not blatantly state “for commercial use”, it heavily implies it in the description, is sold in restaurant supply stores, and holds only commercial sized rolls – so it’s safe to say this is being marketed for use in commercial kitchens. Let me start with saying I *do* love this product so far, BUT I don’t feel it is durable enough for a real commercial kitchen. I have a commercial candy kitchen which is a light use environment and it feels chintzy and requires somewhat delicate handling. It is very very light weight which is a good thing, but also a bad thing in that it is so light it feels like it is going to crack or shatter every time it bumps something. I can’t imagine this holding up for long in a restaurant. If you are used to commercially rated products made of nice thick plastic or polycarbonate or heavy duty, this is likely not a great solution for you.That being said, it works so well, very easy to use, and I really like it functionally. The slide works beautifully and where we struggled with the film wrap in the cardboard box in which it came with that awful sharp blade that never smoothly cut the film, we now get easy, beautiful straight cuts with the same film but using this nice box.This would be AWESOME for use at home or anywhere light use, but at the price point of $50 I paid, I don’t feel the value was quite right. I would value this at more like $30 for home (note you must use the large commercial rolls you find in restaurant or party supply stores) or very light commercial use. I would not endorse this for a busy restaurant or heavy use kitchen. I will say it is quite bulky, so it will need a fair amount of space for being stored. I don’t think it would fit well in a standard cupboard.

Excellent quality, same foot print as the cardboard box. The blade is so much better than the original box the wrap came in. A must have for bulk kitchen wrap!
