Simple, works well, easy to set up and clean
This is a nicely made toy. Very easy to put together, the pieces fit well, and everything seems like a pretty good quality plastic. You will need a phillips head screwdriver to screw down the posts, and it takes a little bit of force. The tubes come with two lids: one with one large hole and one with a few small holes to raise the difficulty level. The tubes spin smoothly and fast on the metal bar. The rounded spikes on the bottom are an extra barrier to work around – great for problem-solving and satisfying the cat foraging need. I fill it with dry food so my cats can play with it all day without eating too many treats. It’s a nice supplement to their wet food diet.Overall it’s a great cat toy concept, and I just love this design in particular. Inexpensive, well made. Buy it for your cats!

Perfect for my chubby cat
This is a great puzzle feeder! I have two cats: one slim and one chubby. While I feed mostly wet I like to use puzzle feeders for some kibble and treats for the chubby one and this one is by far my favorite. It took a while for him to get it but it offers different settings. We started easy and slowly increased difficulty over weeks.

Is your cat dumb?
The product is great, and is exactly as described. I thought my cat was smart enough to use it, but he absolutely was not. One deterrent was his inability to get treats with his paws. He is a declawed cat, and that might have something to do with it.

Challenging, makes cat work for their treat
My cat is such a ham. Per the instructions, I showed her how to do it, flipping the tubes and letting the treats fall out. She caught on but decided it was easier to play dumb and let me flip it for her. This went on for a few days before I caught her flipping it over herself when she thought I wasn’t looking. So I stopped falling for her sorry look and didn’t help her anymore. She ignored it for a week in protest and I thought I may have wasted my $$. Alas, she now flips them herself when she feels like having a treat. I keep 2-3 treats in each tube. Sometimes she flips one tube, waits a few hours and flips the 2nd tube etc. This is her 3rd mind game toy and probably the least favorite but she figured it out!The parts are sturdy but the overall weight is light and it can be easily knocked over by rough play, heavy swatting or bumping. A weighted base would have been better. She did push it over once and all the treats fell out and she was in hog heaven. Luckily she hasn’t repeated that tactic again! :-)UPDATE: She’s getting good at flipping the tubes so I had to screw on the larger top caps. This makes it more challenging to get the treats out and they don’t always fall out on the first few flips. She noticed it got harder and started whacking the tubes harder in frustration. Funny to watch!OCT 2017 UPDATE:She’s getting so good at this game I have to use the hardest (smallest hole) tops. It’s scary and amazing how quickly she learned to flip and manipulate the tubes to get the treats out. She talks to it as she flips the tubes and grumbles when it doesn’t dispense a treat asap. She’s mastered this, the Trixie 5-in-1 board and a treat ball. I alternate their use and sometimes put a little in each and she systematically goes through them claiming her prize.

Fun But Didnât Hold My Catsâ Interest
My cats were able to figure out this puzzle toy fairly quickly. As I increased the challenge, they were able to accomplish it, but after a couple of days, they lost interest. If youâre looking for a toy that remains entertaining and challenging for an extended period, this may not be the best choice, depending on your catsâ interests and needs.

My Siberian cat Gizmo loves this
It never ceases to amaze me how smart my Siberian cat Gizmo is. Siberian cats are very intelligent and very good problem solvers. Gizmo figured out how to play fetch in 10 minutes when she was 10 weeks old. She’s learned how to get into the shower when the shower doors aren’t open by jumping up to the top of the shower doors and then slowly lowering herself down into the tub. Once she’s in there she will hang out for a few minutes and then she’ll use her pad to start ever slowly getting the door to open. She continues this until she has enough space to squeeze her head through the door. From there she slides through the now open shower door and jumps down to the bathroom floor. The point of my rather lengthy diatribe is that when researching this toy I saw some reviews that said that the either the cats never quite caught on to the mechanics of this toy or the learning curve took a bit to pick up. This made me very nervous to buy it.I received the product on 10-18-16. It was very easy to put together. I would say you can have this put together in about 5 to minutes tops.In reference to the Learning Curve. Well let’s just say that Gizmo never ceases to amaze me with her intelligence. She had this figured out within about 2 minutes from the time I put it on the floor with treats in it.Based on the Q&A portion for this product each of the 3 containers are 1/3 cup, so this will hold a total of 1 cup of food or treats. The very clever thing about this toy is that it comes with two sets of lids for each of the containers. One you can use for food dispensing for those cats that need to eat slower as there is a sizeable hole in each of the lids in this set. The other set of lids you can use for treats as they have 3 holes in each lid. Thanks for reading all the way to the end of my review. I do hope it’s been helpful.

works for all animals!
I purchased this for my two cats and they are interested in it here and there. My pet skunk, on the other hand, loves this toy!! she figured it out quickly and since there are different sized lids, I am able to put chunks of veggies or freeze dried treats in it for her. (instead of just cat treats) so all in all, this is a great treat puzzle for your pet to grow into. It’s sturdy and most importantly, the bottom puzzle is made well and they can get the treats! My last one (from a different brand) the pegs were so high at the bottom, it was impossible for pets to get the treats. The bottles also spin very easily which is great.

This puzzle is in my regular rotation of mealtime feeders. My 10yo cat seems to enjoy it. I love that it keeps her occupied while I’m at work; it takes her about 30 minutes of puzzle time to finish her meal. I’ve had it just over a year and it has held up well.However…. Unless your cat is a genius, it may take patience and stepwise learning. My cat could not figure it out initially on her own. I needed to use additional steps beyond what instructions recommended.Step 1: I removed the tubes from the puzzle, mostly filled tubes with paper towel, and added some kibble to the top. With tubes lying on the ground she could find and paw out the food. This taught her to associate the tubes with kibble.Step 2: I put the tubes back onto the puzzle, still using paper towel to keep kibble near top.Step 3. Once she learned to spin the tubes to get the kibble, I removed the paper towelStep 4. I finally added the lids to the tubes to increase the challenge. You’ll be so proud when your cat masters this! If you are not willing to spend a few weeks to train your cat to use this puzzle, it may not be the best choice for you. Also, your cat should be hungry (ie no free feeding) when playing this game.

My active Devon Rex loved this. Itâs pretty light so it falls over sometimes but not that often.
