it’s not the toy, it’s my cats
this toy arrived with enough of a charge to go for several days straight out of the box. at first i thought the battery had died quickly, but it was just cycling itself off for a while and then restarting, sporadically. it does wobble a bit and casts a laser beam in a circle on the floor. if you are able to place it in a higher position you could get a wider and more erratic circle.all of this seems good, it remained in operation for about a week before the battery needed recharging. unfortunately for me, my cats don’t seem to find any amusement in cat toys. they just ignored it.

It gave a single quarter turn, the laser never turned on, and now it just makes a grinding noise. I’m going to reach out to the company to see if I can get a replacement, this would be the perfect toy for my cat’s play style and I’m hoping it was just a dud. I’m unsure how well it will go since my delivery took awhile to get to me but we’ll see and I’ll update either with their response or how well the replacement does or doesn’t work. For now, doesn’t work at all. But hey, it looks great and has a good weight to it, if the mechanics were operational I think it could hold up well to my little beasts.

Not as cool as you think
I had high hopes for this cat toy but both me and my cat ended up being pretty disappointed. Technically it works, by shining a laser around in a circle for your cat to chase, but the spinning swivel function doesn’t work too well and my cat gets quickly bored of this. Also, the little motor that spins the laser is super loud and sounds like some sort of heavy machinery running in your living room. It also might scare more timid cats.Another possible issue with this device is that the laser can shine in your cat’s eyes. Especially if your cat tilts the laser to the side. Since there is no personal feedback in this device, there is nothing to stop your cat from staring right into the laser.I had high hopes for this toy but was quite disappointed. Technically it works, which is the only reason why I still give it 3 stars, but its not a very engaging toy. I would not recommend this cat toy. Its definitely not the kind of thing you can turn on and leave at home with your cat while you go to work. You would be better off spending your money on a nice handheld laser pointer toy and actually play with your cat.
