Great Paw Protection, Terrible “Tough Dog” Ego Crusher
I purchased these “boots” for my 4 1/4 pound chihuahua “Mojo” at the advice from his veterinarian. He was experiencing a lot of pain from going out to potty when it was cold out and it all started out of nowhere really. He is able to kick off the back boots fairly quickly sometimes but we primarily needed them for his front paws. I’ll share my experience with you all now…The first time I put the boots on Mojo he complied although he was confused. He really likes his hoodie, he is okay with cool shirts on the rare occasion that we find one small enough for him. He even likes his red poofy coat and will get on board once or twice during the Christmas season with his “Santa’s Little Yelper” jammies.I told Mojo it would take some getting used to, we tested different adjustments and made sure he was comfortable and they weren’t hurting him since he had been receiving treatment for having pain in his paws/legs. He just turned 4 and is used to wearing clothes, but we have never put boots on him until this moment. Boots are on and in place, I’m holding Mojo, he is not in pain and O!M!G! He looked so cute! That’s when I sat him down on the floor. The events that took place upon me sitting my dog – named Major Mojo – the same dog that truly believes in his heart that he is the biggest, toughest, most vicious dog that ever walked the earth – yet weighs in at an even 4 pounds each summer and gains an additional 4 ounces each winter – the events I am about to describe happened in rapid succession as soon as I sat Mojo down.My husband and I held our breath, waiting for Mojo to give a sign of any pain that we would potentially need to rescue him from immediately. I’m pretty sure Mojo also sighed a heavy sigh of relief when his leg didn’t hurt once I sat him down. That is when he realized that these boots were still attached to his legs. He started to take a step. His paws flailed whimsically as he attempted to walk, reaching high into the air and much farther forward than his normal steps. The confusion set in quickly as he attempted to half-trot toward the front door. Suddenly he started to kick his legs trying to shake off the boots. He was unsuccessful. I exclaimed joyfully to my husband that they stayed in place and we burst out in uncontrolled laughter upon seeing Mojo’s initial reaction. That is when Mojo realized we were watching him. Not just casually in the room with him, but focused solely on Mojo. He kind of glared at us and held his head higher and tried to walk toward the front door. I scooped him up and tried to apologize for laughing at him but I couldn’t completely subdue my chuckles.I reassured Mojo and carried him out onto the porch where I sat him down to attach his tiny cable that keeps him from eating all of the much larger neighborhood dogs. I told him how handsome he was and gave him loves and kisses and backed away, camera in hand, to give him room to get off of the one step and go into the yard to potty. My husband had followed us outside since we almost always take Mojo out together and was still wiping the tears from his face and failing terribly at getting his laughter under control.Mojo attempted to take the normal route off of the step (onto a small garden stone, then down onto the sidewalk) and realized that he was fearful of falling. I talked sweetly to him and encouraged him, making an attempt to help him feel brace again. I put my phone away after getting the short video and knelt down in from of Mojo and that’s when I saw it…His big tough dog ego had been absolutely crushed in those quickly passing moments. Mojo was now questioning everything about himself. He had tears running down his little fur covered face, staining it darker, and he looked up at me to plead with help using only his eyes. My joy instantly turned into sorrow as I helped Mojo down and began scolding my sweet unknowing husband for still laughing hysterically.Mojo made quick work of trying to get comfortable with walking in the boots which again caused me to chuckle and he finally ignored us and went about watering every plant he could reach.Once Mojo finished his initial business he sat right to work on trying to remove the back boots while hiding under a bush thinking we couldn’t see him. Using a clever scoot/mouth-grab/kick/pull method a few times he managed to escape from the back right boot. It had fastened it slightly less than the other side just testing them out.A few minutes later the other back boot came off but Mojo had to use a different plant and decoration to assist in freeing his back left leg. He didn’t seem to mind the front boots nearly as much atvthat point and you could see some of his pride recovering as he walked away from his second shed boot. All in all, we primarily use two boots for his front paws only unless there is snow or rain and it’s cold, and sometimes if it is too cold and windy. Small dogs carry most of their weight on their front legs so it provides the appropriate relief he needs.Mojo has become slightly more comfortable with his boots. He still walks funny for a few seconds but doesn’t cry any longer over it since he feels the relief the boots provide. We try to not use the boots in the presence of company, for sake of his ego and we remove the boots immediately upon returning from outdoors.Mojo has never attempted to chew up any type of clothings – his or otherwise – and I was a bit concerned about there boots after the first encounter, so I sat two up high and placed two down for him to get familiar with them. I am pleased to report that he has never chewed on his boots! The boots themselves are excellent quality! The inside is soft, cozy, and warm and the solid rubber on the bottom outside is durable and does an excellent job of keeping the cold and elements away from mojo’s paws. They are fashionable and they even match his peacoat perfectly, which helps alleviate some of the ego crushing that results in being so cute and confused. The fastening system of adjustable Velcro works out really well to get a good fit and the boots are generally sized very well.In closing, I have to tell you that I spent some time finding the initial photo of Mojo in his new boots but I have decided to not post his tear-streaked face since he looked so defeated. Those boots though – they are CUTE! The value was great and I will likely buy more if they have any other boy colors since they were so effective! Oh – they arrived fast, were exactly what I expected, and easy to use.

Cute and well made but not what I needed
Very cute and warm, but not very useful in snow more than 2 inches deep. In 3 inch deep snow, they got filled with the stuff and slid off. I also had a hard time getting them on right, even with a very cooperative dog. He didn’t quite get that his toes were supposed to go to the end of the shoe and kept curling them under or holding them straight, so the shoes ended up crooked. It would have been almost impossible if his nails were long or his foot fur hadn’t been recently trimmed. They’d probably be great for minimal snow and keeping salt off of paws, so I’m keeping them anyway, but I’ll have to try something else for the snow problem.

Cute, really functional and my dog loves them!
My 6.5lbs toy puddle started to dislike going outside do do her business in a sub zero weather here in Wisconsin, only after 1 or 2 minutes her feet would get so cold she would stop walking and stand on only two legs at a time switching them every several seconds. One of her paws may have gotten a frost bite since she was limping and did not want us to touch it to check it. Looked for shoes and there were so many mixed reviews on here it was hard to decide which ones may work. Glad I chose those! The shoes fit perfectly, stay on her feet and she is eager to go outside and play in the snow. Not to mention that they look really cute and cannot even see them because they match my peach puddle’s color perfectly. She never wore shoes (she is only 1 year old and last year was to young to go outside during winter time) and got used to them withing minutes, we only had them for a day but already she does not mind putting them on (the first time it was a challenge though and took two people). Don’t know about durability but they look well built and only cost $2.5 per shoe so it is not a big deal if one gets lost or damaged, another set will provide me plenty of spare ones. One fell of only once during a brisk run but that was the very first time she had them on and I am not sure if the shoe was put on properly during the initial struggle. Shoes stayed on for the last 5 outings and boy was she jumping into the snow and running around like mad (she missed playing outside and apparently stored all that energy) because her feet were not getting cold any more for the first time in weeks. We (our dog, my wife and I) all love the shoes. After seeing the difference, if they were several times more expensive we would still buy them, no questions asked. Real life savers for cold, northern winters.

    Waste of Money
They’re adorable but impractical. I bought these so my 4lb Yorkie’s paws wouldn’t get hot and dirty on walks. The size chart is wrong. I ordered a smaller size based on the chart and they were too small. So I had to send them back and get a new pair. The larger size fit well but they just don’t work. No matter how tight you make them, they fall off as soon as the dog starts walking. Also, after only being worn twice, the two pieces of Velcro sewn together as a strap are detaching.

Well made set of boots. Love that they almost look like Uggs. So stylish. Fit is perfect. Make sure to measure paws as instructed and order accordingly.

My dog is an average size toy breed, and the boots are even smaller than him. Also, the fastening belt isn’t secure and constantly slips off no matter how tightly you wrap them. Doesn’t seem like they meant for anything but stuffed animals.
