The best catnip toy!
I am always searching for toys for my cat Krissy. He’s a 4 year old – strictly indoor cat that I rescued from Save-A-Pet when he was 9 months old. When I first got him and gave him loose catnip, he reacted badly by having a “gag reflex” reaction, so I avoided loose catnip. I decided to try different catnip, something that was less directly inhaled, so I started purchasing toys that contained catnip. I have purchased and thrown away sooo many toys because he would sniff them then ignore them. I was determined to find a suitable toy and finally found this toy. I bought the cigar and was ecstatic when he took to it and started kicking it! I will definitely reorder this toy again. BTW, I chose the brown cigar over the pink one because a reviewer claimed it looked really shabby afterwards from their cats saliva. I highly recommend this toy because they use organic catnip and because of its durability to withstand Krissys hind claws. 😊

Second purchase of this exact fish!!
My cat loves this fish!! This is my second purchase of it (but not this brand). After the rave response of its initial purchase, I have since bought several items from this brand. The Pollack inspired fish is a repurchase that will be in my kitty’s stocking. Hopefully he won’t rip it down before morning comes.

Updated this feedback due to new development. Original feedback included at the bottom of the page.At first I was bummed because the kitten I got this for didn’t like it. Didn’t just not have interest, but was borderline afraid of it. Avoided it completely and if you tried to get it near her, she’d leave immediately. I tried and tried to get her interested, but no luck. Eventually I gave up and offered it to one of my older cats. Since they are older, they don’t play as much as they used to and I just assumed it was pointless to give her the toy since she really doesn’t play with toys now. Boy, was I surprised! She immediately grabbed it and started tossing it around, hugging and kicking it like she was trying to rip it open, it was quite the change! I thought I should give it a bit of time before writing feedback, to see how long her interest would last, and it’s now been over a month and she still gets excited and plays with it pretty much every day. I’d say that’s a success! So, maybe my kitten just hates catnip and if you have a cat that is really into catnip, this may be the toy for you!*Disappointed, I must admit, especially because of the price of this small stuffed catnip fish. My kitten hates it. Won’t have anything to do with it. Actively pushes it away. I won’t say I hate it because I like the concept of it. Organic catnip is a good thing, and it seemed like it would be a nice cuddle toy in theory. I got this for two reasons, one because she’s young and gets a bit needy when she’s trying to sleep. She wants to snuggle my arm, for like, forever. (when she’s not trying to eat it) But I have work to do and can’t do it forever, so I started looking for some kind of stuffed thing she might like instead.She also does this thing where she “hugs” my arm, which winds up just being a guise for trying to eat/shred it, so I decided to buy this to try and substitute it for my arm. I thought it would give her a nice alternate thing to try to kill, but she just kicks it away. Weird. I’ve tried getting her to play with it in other ways as well, pretending it’s sneaking up on her, dangling it, waving it about, etc. etc. She just isn’t into it at all. When she first smelled it, she actually moved away quickly like she was afraid of it. (she’s not afraid of much, she attacks our large dog on a regular basis in order to get him to play with her) She doesn’t run away when she smells it anymore, but if I try to press her to play with it, she leaves.I do not know why this happens. Maybe the scent is too strong. I assume it’s just because she’s still young and hasn’t developed a taste for catnip, but I’m not certain. Some cats never enjoy catnip at all, so she may be one of those.I will say that the cloth doesn’t really feel like anything I’d personally want to put in my mouth. It’s very stiff and not very pleasant to the touch, but I wouldn’t want to wash it to try to soften it because it’s full of catnip.

Updated (original review 2014)Begin 2017 update: The bananas have had to be replaced because the covers gave away under daily assaults by three cats. J the Pollock is still holding strong…maybe the splashes of color on his cover made him stronger although he has been licked so much (double entendre intended) that he is a blue gray now. Yeowww, my cats favorite toys. End 2017 update.Yeowww toys are made in the USA.Yeowww makes several different catnip toys. Because a paint spattered fish and a banana appealed to me, these are what I bought as toys for my cats when I added a third cat to my family last June.Naturally, I named the Pollock fish toy Jackson right away. I am sure the pun was in the minds of the Yeowww company designers. Jackson is made is study fabric. His white parts do get dirty but I do not wash Jackson for fear of diluting his attraction to all my cats. One of my long fanged male cats, Rollo, likes Jackson very much. My other long fanged male cat, Sully, likes Mr. Banana better. My petite fanged female cat, Suzy, likes them both. Sully loves to roll over Mr. Banana, get that banana catnip on his fur. The other two cats like to wrestle with Jackson and chew on his head or tail, holding him with front paws and kicking him with the back paws. They also wrestle with Mr. Banana. Even if your cat does not get blissed out on the Yeowww catnip, they will love these toys for wrestling. It is a joy to watch my cats play with Jackson and Mr. Banana. Also, you can never have too many bananas and pollocks if you have multiple cats.

I love these toys definitely worth the extra money
