My shih tzu has a very thick coat and this works well to remove the excess hair.My dog is a chewer and easily chewed rubber handle.

I use 2 of the 3 tools every grooming session.
This is a great set of grooming tools. I use them on cats. The de-shedding rake & the comb get out amazing amounts of loose fur from my cats, much more so than combs & brushes that I have tried in the past. The curved, scythe-like tool, which is supposed to cut through matted clumps, did help a little, but overall I like the other two tools more. The long-haired cat still experiences hair-pulling, but this is beginning to improve since I have been able to remove so much loose fur. The rake & comb glide through the short-haired cat’s coat, & also remove amazing amounts of loose fur. Best of all, the whole set costs less than buying just one de-shedder at a brick-and-mortar store.

Works well
This set is much better than what I’d been using before. We have 2 shorthair cats and 1 longhair. The longhair did not like to be combed & brushed when snags were there, but this set works through them more easily. For us, it was worth ordering. It does make the task of keeping the fur smooth much easier for the cat and for me!

Doesn’t Stay Sharp For Long.
My cat hates the sound of clippers, even low noise. These are silent. She didn’t mind I think because it feels like being brushed. Worked great. But the second time I used them they were already pulling on her hair The blade on the razor gets dull too fast. I only got one painless use out of them.

Doesn’t workbook well
I wanted something to cut through mats. These are not these combs. But as regular combs for untangled hair, they work.
