Good life jacket, poor d ring
The life jacket works well for the price. I attached my puppy’s Leash to the d ring on the jacket and it came off completely and she was off Leash with no control. I would prefer the jacket not have a d ring for a Leash than a faulty one. This could easily result in chasing or biting.

Fancy would drown without this
My dog is a pitbull crossed with a bulldog to much body for fairly short legs. It fit fancy perfect and she felt she could jump in the pool as much as she wanted and would not turn side ways swimming which was great. I wanted to keep her out but she just keeps jumping in.

I have a 30-pound mixed breed pup who loves to play on the pool deck but hates the pool. She has fallen in twice and panicked as she swam to the edge of the pool. We decided to teach her how to swim to the steps so that 1, she wouldnât drown, and 2, she wouldnât swim to the edge and tear up the pool liner.We initially tried to do that without any sort of life vest and we quickly realized that she would either panic and swim to the edge of the pool where she couldnât climb out, or sheâd basically claw at and climb the body of whomever was teaching her. The life vest has been very helpful in both regards. First, if she tries to swim to the edge, weâre about to grab the handle on her back and pull her gently towards us and away from the wall. Secondly, weâre able to hold the handle and keep her at armâs length while she calms down and gets used to the water. It keeps her from trying to climb up our bodies like weâre jungle gyms. The handle is also great for guiding her towards the steps.The vest did a great job of keeping her afloat so that we could train her to swim to the steps and climb out. She still hates the water, but we feel confident in her ability to get herself out of the pool in the event she falls in.
