Crazy Aaron’s Hide Inside! Gnome Home Thinking Putty – Collectible Sensory Play Putty with Hidden Surprises – Non-Toxic, Never Dries Out – Creative Toy Fun for Ages 3+

So Awesome!
I have over a dozen Crazy Aaron’s putties, and this hidden gnome one is definitely one of my favorites. It is so visually appealing and just packed with cool mushrooms and glitter. The texture of all the clay pieces inside while playing with it is just fantastic as well. And like most other Aaron’s putties, the pieces inside (including the glitter) stay in the putty; you don’t even get any glitter stuck to your hands while playing with it. Also, strangely, mine came smelling exactly like sugar cookies. This isn’t marketed as a scented putty, and I noticed some other people have said it stinks, but to me it smells just like sugar cookies. For reference, none of my other Aaron’s putties have any smell, aside from maybe a very faint glue-like scent on a couple of them. I also need to point out that nearly every single negative review is plain wrong, as they all stem from the putty partially leaking or usually from it being a little separated or seemingly “dried out.” The fact is that this stuff doesn’t dry out. Yes, since it is putty, it will move around in the canister during shipping, toward wherever down is oriented. This means it might separate a little or get pieces stuck between the lid and jar or even leak out a little. That’s literally just the nature of any putty or slime or goop, etc. Every single jar I’ve gotten, whether from Amazon or somewhere else, has moved and stuck to various parts of the jar by the time I open it. Literally, all you have to do is grab the main clump of putty and use it to pull the other bits off of the lid and canistet or even the inside of the package if it leaked. It takes less than a minute, it’s unavoidable, it’s well worth the miniscule amount of trouble, and the putty is still in perfect condition. And as long as you don’t store it sideways, it’s the only time you’ll have to do it. Hey yourself some of this putty, it’d so well worth it.

Cute, but might not be for you.
The first thing to note is that this putty has a strong chemical smell. It does not smell good, and while it doesn’t fill the room, it’s definitely noticeable. Other than that, I love this putty! For a young child, finding the animals would be a fun game. I bought this putty for the texture of the clay pieces, and they did not disappoint! The little clay leaves add a great texture to the putty, although I will note that for young kids they can be a bit pointy on the hands, so make sure they don’t hurt themselves. I use it for fidgeting, and it works great for me, but squishing it as a fidget could be slightly painful for a young child. When stretched, the clay pieces prevent a smooth stretch, so the putty kind of falls apart into strings. It is still good to fidget with, but not if you’re looking for the same experience as with other putty’s by aaron’s. Overall I love how this putty looks and feels! I just don’t think it might be for everyone.

Dried up and leaking
Arrived dried up. The entirety of the putty was hard and dried, and stuck to the lid which was hard to open.Now have to take time out of my day to package and return, only for another to arrive after Christmas. Annoying.

LOVE
The little mushrooms and gnomes are so cute! Great snapping/crackling sound when you play with it. Only thing is the scent is off but this isn’t a scented putty!

My kids love Crazy Aaron’s it’s a top quality product and lots of fun to play with.

These are great tools for calming kids or anyone in a bit of emotional distress. Kids love looking for the 6 different emotions and the putty itself is not sticky or slimy. I use it in my school as a calming tool and the kids really like it.

Loved this last Xmas , then about 2 weeks I found it under the settee , shoved it back in the attic and this year when getting the Xmas decorations out the kids found it and it was still like new and the kids loved it all over again!
