I tested this in my freezer with both food and water.
In Oklahoma we have not had our first freeze yet. So I tested the unit in my deep freeze for 2 days. It worked great. The water was not warm, temperature was pleasant to the touch, yet had no ice crystals, as with a cheaper unit I have used in the past. The canned cat food in the other bowl remained unfrozen, a little stiff but did not stop my house cat from eating it.I will be using this with my chickens, who tend to turn everything over. They have used it a day with no issues. It is heavy, slick, easy to clean, the stainless bowls are study and removable to allow cleaning and allows them to be taken inside to refill/clean.Overall a 5 star product. As soon as you take it out of the box it has a feel of quality.

It’s just what I want
The weather in Boston is getting colder and colder. My cat usually eats and drinks quickly. I bought these heating bowls so that the food and water won’t be too cold when my cat swallows them into his stomach. That might be better for his health. There are two stainless bowls and they are quite wide which is convenient for the cat to use. They have large capacity, which is enough for the cat to eat and drink for a whole day.

I use the bowls without the base
I like the size of the bowls, I use them without the base/holder since it has to be plugged in. I like that the ability for heated bowls is there if needed.

Very Good Quality!
I purchased this for my cats that live in the garage. They have heated beds and now their water isnât going to freeze and their food will stay nice for them. The only thing I wish it had was an on and off switch but, thatâs not a deal breaker because itâs very well made for the price!

The bowl is doing its job. I am feeding an outdoor cat that wonât let me catch it. It keeps the water from freezing and warms the food. Since it does warm the food, if there is any wet food left, it does get caked to the bowl and then you have to soak the bowl. Which leads to my questionâ¦is it possible to buy one extra bowl? That would be helpful.
