working well for my senior pup
my 17 yo min pin has been dealing with a demodex infestation on his lower back for close to a year now. his immune system won’t fend the little buggers off and isn’t a good candidate for dip treatment so I’ve been using medicated shampoos plus vet meds to help it look better [he isn’t itchy, just looks a little unsightly]. this shampoo smells nice and calms down his skin when it looks a little angry. we use it twice a week taking care to not apply on his bits. we let it sit for 5-10mins and it rinses away any buildup and flakes. no irritations. because of the active ingredient, it may stain clothing/towels but hasn’t effected his black coat at all. solid product. this brand has been trusted in my household for years now.

    Works for humans
I’m a human who sometimes gets bouts of folliculitis (like small pimples on the scalp), especially after eating ice cream. I couldn’t find a shampoo for humans with benzoyl peroxide. I tried this and it works well. Since using it I haven’t had any bouts. Pretty happy about that. It also leaves my hair clean without residual buildup.

    Impressed
I was very pleasantly surprised with this shampoo. Stopped the itching after the first bath. As with many other reviewers, my dog broke out in some sort of itchy, bumpy rash. This calmed the skin and removed the bumps. He slept, snoring, for 8 hours after his bath. There is no lather generated by this shampoo, feels like a lotion when applied, yet cleans the skin completely. Smell isn’t bad and rinsed out with the shampoo. My neighbor has spent 100s of dollars on her dog trying to remedy the same condition. I turned her onto this product and am anxiously waiting for her results. All said and done, I would highly recommend the product for any type of skin issue. It may not work for all problems, but is much cheaper than a vet visit.

Seems to calm my dogs skin
I tried this shampoo after reading the positive reviews. I was fairly surprised that my doggie’s skin seems less red and irritated after just the first use. I left the product on for five minutes. The smell is nice, and doesn’t seem overly harsh. My doggie’s hair was extra soft and fluffy, but most importantly his fur/skin felt extra fluffy and soft.

    No more flaky skin!
My little fur baby has horrible springtime skin allergies. She scratches her skin raw until it bleeds, and I have had to put clothes on her to protect her skin. I put anti-itch sprays on her sores (for hot spots, etc), which only help temporarily. I have changed her food, purchased zillions of shampoos, and taken her to the vet. After the vet said she needed to take the $3 a day allergy pill daily (maybe forever, as the allergies may get worse each year), I read up on it and read where that can compromise dogs immune system. I wasn’t ready to give up on the fight, and looked for a different solution to the problem.I researched, and purchased many shampoos to try to fix the problem. It was so frustrating to finish her bath only to have to start scratching before I could get her clothes on. Her skin would develop weird waxy flakes (not like dandruff… almost scab like, but sticky). None of the shampoos would clean up the scaly problem, even when I would focus on those spots during her bath to get them clean. UNTIL FINALLY, i found this product, read the review for this shampoo, and it sounded like others had a similar problem, and this worked for them. After the first shampoo with this product, the flakes were almost completely gone! I bathed her when she seemed to be itchy again (about a week), and after 4 baths with this shampoo, her skin is almost completely healed. Her hair is growing back, and she doesn’t scratch much any more. Part of this “cure” could be because we are through spring and now in the Texas summer, but I am a believer that the benzoyl peroxide is what cleared up her flaky skin. What a relief to her (and me!).Thanks to those people who shared their stories in the reviews, which helped me decide to try this product after trying so many other shampoos. The clear descriptions are very helpful for those who are trying to resolve a particular problem.

My almost 4yo Samoyed has had skin problems for over two years. At 2yo we had his skin biopsied and it came back that he had pyoderma dermatitis but our vet didn’t know what the cause was or how to treat this. We’ve been trying foe years to fix his skin problems but it only got worse. Recently we had him tested for bushings and over active thyroid and full bloods came back all normal $1000 later. We’ve been using malaseb weekly and it works but doesn’t remove the greasy and sticky sebum that has build up all over his skin. After doing a lot of research, I believe he has had a persistent fungal infection and came across this product on Amazon. Pet MD Benzoyl Peroxide is not available in Australia, but the reviews were so good, I forked out $80 to try this. I massaged it in well and left it on his skin for 10-15 mins and repeated. I was amazed to see the steadfast stickiness lifting and I could finally see his pink skin under the black and brown build-up as it degreased the skin. After one wash, it is not 100% better but I would say its the best thing I’ve used so far and I’m excited that this will be the answer to our skin problems. I will continue to use this every second day along with malaseb to kill the fungus and I look forward to reviewing hoe it goes. We have tried everything else. After just one use, it worked so well, I am hopeful it will clear up the skin once and for all.
