NOT Dishwasher Safe
This ice cream scoop is an old design that works almost perfectly. It scoops vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry with equal ease, even better if you warm it with water first. Plenty sturdy, you won’t bend it with even the hardest ice cream. But DON’T PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER! The smooth finish will come off exposing the raw aluminum body, which leaves black marks on your hand and the ice cream.

This is not really a product review but rather just a note to future buyers. In the description, it clearly says it is not dishwasher safe, but unfortunately I didn’t read it. I put it in the dishwasher without thinking, and it turned from shiny silver to dark grey. This doesn’t affect the performance of the item, merely the appearance. It actually works great and is a good buy for the price, but I wanted to warn others who might be reading the reviews, to definitely hand wash if you want to keep it bright and shiny.

READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE SCOOP
I ordered these for an ice cream social. In fine print, that is not easy to see, it says do not expose to Hot Water above 140 degrees, which is normal santizing temperature. Needless to say, I missed that, and added to dishwasher. They came out black. 🙁 Trying to wash the black off, all the coating came off and they turned this horrible grey. If that had been included in the instructions, I would have never bought this brand.

… Item I have ever bought. Scooping ice cream was like a child’s play! I went from arthritic hands to butter-smooth moves and devoured the whole carton without any help. Who needs a spoon when you have this magic tool?

This ice cream scoop holds up extremely well, and it’s easy to clean by hand. It would just be even better if it could be dishwasher safe.

I love that I no longer need to have a cup of hot water beside my ice cream to scoop it out! This scoop works great! It is just the right size. Small enough to serve a single scoop neatly, but capable of making a large sphere for a larger serving!

My kids and I love ice cream, and we have gone through more than a handful of terrible ice cream scoops that have all broken or bent. This is the first that we have used that scoops ice cream seamlessly, and is so sturdy. I donât think it is possible to bend this if you tried. The ice cream doesnât stick to the scoop which is such a great feature. It might not be anything fancy, but it works, itâs good quality, and is worth what we paid for it.

I have only ever hand washed these scoops and they still lost their seal at the end and let in water. The water does not drain well and is impossible to fully dry the inside of the scoop once the seal is gone from the end piece. I loved these scoops the first time i used them but within a couple of months used only a handful of times they began to look warn. They are not completely smooth and lint from a paper towel or drying cloth gets caught on the texture. Will not buy again.
