While this product does get warm (not hot), it doesn’t on the side 12 inches. You can slightly feel the wires down the middle. It’s super soft and snuggly. Perfect for using in a recliner. The grey color is perfect.

My husband and I have been struggling for YEARS to be comfortable together in bed. He needs lots of blankets and I need one or none. We have tried electric mattress pads and blankets before but they were stiff where you could not only feel the wires but they would hardly bend and the heat was spotty. I was about to give up and sleep in a different room but we like being close. I thought I would give it one more try and bought this for him at Christmas. What a good idea this was!!! For the first time, we both slept through the night without struggling with the covers. What a relief!!!The blanket is sooooooo soft and supple. The design of the ridges on one side hide the wires so that you don’t even know they are there. The sherpa on the other side helps disperse the heat so there are no hot spots. It is also very light weight so we aren’t pulling and tugging when it droops beyond the edge of the bed. There are two separate controllers with their own plug in spot about a foot away from the bottom corner of each side.His side is set to High for 9 hours and mine is set to “OFF”. No more night sweats for me and he doesn’t require 2 blankets and a quilt. Our nightmares are over!
